Is Questie irrelevant now?

Can I get rid of Questie because of the new quest helper? Why should I keep it?

keep it if you wanna stick to questing or download something like RXP (have to pay for it but its great leveling experience). its still useful for tidying up logs (i use questie/RXP and Kaliel’s tracker for cleaning log window)

with RDF now out questing will be pointless unless u wanna do the chain quests for dungs quests.

The in game quest guide is being added. That’s what I’m assuming is being referred to. Questie is slightly more accurate and has a better display imo. But the in game one works just fine.

But will the new quest helper include support for all quests; including seasonal ones?

i mean the developer of questie has kept it updated even on retail which uses the new quest system and its still useful.

Questing will still remain relevant, as far as I know dungeon quest chains will still be around and dps need something to do when waiting in que!

being able to see all quests on map and holding shift while hovering them for more info is nice. last i checked retail doesnt even have that.

I’d keep it. Questie will tell you if there’s quests in the zone, still left to do.

And some of these quests are disappearing in Cata. Of which, some reward unique items.

Such as, there’s a quest that rewards a one-hand sword. The appearance is only used on two swords: Quest reward, and a rare drop in 1000 Needles. Both sources will be removed in Cata.

It’s also extremely helpful if you’re looking to complete the ‘Questing Achievements’ and are missing a handful; just open the world map and look to see where they are.

Thanks for the info. I’ve already completed 99% of all regular quests in game. This sword you mentioned; do you mean it can be transmogrified? If so, would you still need to have it in your inventory? What if you got rid of it a long time ago?

What is this mystery sword ?

The model is this one, and the quest: https://www.wowhead.com/wotlk/item=15782/beaststalker-blade

According to WoWhead, the appearance is only used on this blade and Heavy Marauder Scimitar (BoE), but very rare drop from the Galak Marauder.

Assuming we get the Cata Transmog system and not the revamped one, that unlocks appearances so long as you’ve done the quest that would award the item OR have looted the item after the revamp. – Cata, you still needed to have the item in either Bag, Bank, or Void Storage.

Sure, it’s nothing fancy. But when everyone has Fancy, sometimes the Mundane is the unique of the mix.

I don’t know about it being totally pointless. I just came back with my 5 70’s and while I will probably do a lot of RDF I can also do all the quests across all the zones and make a boatload of gold prior to Cata classic.

Probably what I am going to do because at this point I don’t much care about raiding ICC.

Thanks for that info!

Questie will tell you the precise locations of quest objectives, while the ingame tool just puts a big marker over the general area, so it’s really up to you

That said I find the two tools overlapping to be very distracting when looking at the map and, well, I can only disable one of them…

I’m going to try disabling Questie and see how it goes. Questie is one of the most resource intensive addons, so I would love to get it off my system to improve performance. That said, if the Blizz quest helper doesn’t work out, then Questie will stay.

Questie is 100x better than retail defualt quest helper

questie has additional functions and way more customizable, like loremaster mode ect automations.

There are custom ways to disable blizzards quest helper, search google, i only have questie on.
