I feel like class matters significantly more than gear on a dps, unless you’re talking extremes.

Hunters are always going to do fine, warlocks prob can too

any mage spec will do fine with low gear, boomy, any stealth class

I spoke to this somewhere else as well. Ranged is always going to be less dependent on gear than melee in team fights. But in a 1v1 fight, like a base or cart fight the conquest DPS is going to have a pretty big advantage over the honor DPS, given equal “skill.”

There might be some class matchups where the blue gear can compete though, but that would be the exception and not the rule, IMO.

Idk none of my characters have ever struggled in honor gear

None of my characters have ever struggled in Honor Gear, but there is a noticeable difference between my Honor geared toons and my Conquest geared toons. A conquest geared toon in the right hands can wipe the floor with a few honor-geared toons. I’m not saying gear isn’t easy to acquire, because it is. But if someone performing well in Blues, or even greens, that speaks more to their personal skill level and less about the state of current BGs. I’ve seen Kennie top KB’s and Damage on a hunter in greens last season, but I won’t pretend to be even close to the same skill level as Kennie.

If it makes you feel any better, I also was a base sitter and called out incomings before I died in 2 or 3 hits.

Half the team would have to rush towards me in order to save the node.

I was running my own experiment to see how a 400 ilevel toon performs in bgs.

Do 50 ilevels make a significant difference? Only one way to find out.
