Letâs me (and others) know who/what youâre referring to.
I was referring to the general âkidsâ that seem to make up the vast majority that log in, play a bit, then log out and QQ on the forums loudly⌠but all have achievement scores of less than 5k.
No need to millennial-slam any human being can understand that different games are different. Even generation x-y-z-whatever. Totally disagree, what I proposed would work very well.
Hurdles are fine as long as they make sense and serve an apparent purpose which also makes sense. The current scheme, as it is implemented now, quickly becomes senseless after you have played through the content and explored the game for a bit. The only thing that saves the current implementation is the whistle, which should be in every single part of the game, itâs awesome. IT MAKES SENSE.
True, but edited posts are or can sometimes be revisionist weakness. I meant what I said and I said what I meant. I deliberately did not edit it, but I did indeed have something to add.
Donât put in some absurd achievement. If you want people to experience the content, make good content. Donât force people to jump through hoops to get it.
Iâd rather wait until 8.2 or 8.3 to get flying and be able to just purchase it.
Iâd prefer no flying ever, except for in zones where itâs mandatory. Flying ruins the game.
Oh, i edit ALL the time & use the backspace key continually as i type. Does that make me revisionist? Then so be it. I yam what i yam! Interesting that some see that as weakness, as i see revising as strengthening and reinforcing weak points. Why would i leave it unedited when i can do something about it?
It truly is amazing, but i also like that you need to be 120 for it to work beyond the Broken Isles, so it makes you MISS IT, and work to restore its functionality! I hope that they build upon it and continue with the whistle through the expansionsâŚ
This is what many clamour for Seph, unfortunately the amount is what most canât decide on. People want it to cost 5k but thatâs ridiculous, as it doesnât factor in the inflation of all the ease of gold making since Mists / 2012, so where does that leave us? Should it cost 20k per character or 50k or more?
And would it be fair for that character to then still be able to work on the meta achievement having paid for flight, being able to soar above the hurdles? Iâd think not⌠that toonâs progress would be exempt from PF meta progress.
This tired strawman has been debunked in every thread, and this one multiple times.
Flying at max level, as it was in MoP it what nearly everyone is asking for.
This lie is what the antifliers, the devs, their white knights, and fanboys keep mischaracterizing the argument as.
Again, if antifliers enjoy âimmersionâ so much, never get pathfinder and never earn or buy another flying mount again. Pass on the ones that come up in raids, dungeons, and open world content.
Hold to the conviction of your beliefs, and stay grounded.
Or admit that your argument is so much wind, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.
Hell yes it is. I will never be forced to do it. Hell fire. This is one and all class playing the same why Classic is going to be better than live. Sad
âTodayâs generation of players just wants instant gratification, and doesnât want to work for their rewards.â
Iâve been playing since 2005, and my achievements speak for themselves. Iâve more than put in the time to offer up a valid complaint.
âTheyâre Fortnite players.â
I hate that game.
âFlight locked behind contentâ
WoD flight is my complaint. Itâs not current expansion. Itâs not last expansion. Itâs the expansion before the last expansion. Itâs locked until I grind out the reputation for the jungle, because âdonât want to hurt the feelings of those that did itâ.
Idea, as someone else stated, is to allow the purchase of flying (for previous expansions) for that character only. If they want it account wide, do the reputation grinding.
A valid concern on current content, and possibly the previous expansion, but on expansions older than that?
The achievement could remain, for account wide, and still allow the ability to purchase âper characterâ. Obviously it would be more beneficial to get the achievement if you have alts, but for those that just wish to get the flying and move on to current content, the option would be there.
Iâm not sure what your post has to do with mine.
My comment had nothing to do with paying for a subscription with tokens bought with gold. I also pay real money for my subscription because I play for fun and donât find grinding gold âfun.â I have therefore always been (and probably always will be) one of the poorer wow players.
My comment that you are quoting there was made, not because I want Pathfinder to go away (while I do think that it can be improved, I love that I donât have to shell out a ton of gold to get my army of alts flying), but because with all the people who do want to be able to pay for flight with gold may very well get their wish someday. Classic servers are coming after all.
However, I do object to those who claim that if flight for gold ever comes back that it should be some astronomical amount. The gold cost of flight was never intended to be punitive, and the amounts some people have been saying it should be if it ever comes back would be.
I play for fun, not to amass more gold than I could reasonably spend. I still have some alts that are flying at 150 speed because I have not yet been able to come up with enough gold to be able to pay to get them master flight. If paying gold for flight ever comes back, and those who say that it should be some astronomical amount get their way, those alts would never be able to fly at all in any future expansions.
If gold for flight ever comes back, then I would have to buy tokens to sell just to be able to buy it⌠and not just one token as I have two wow licenses, each of which has over 40 character slots full. That would not be something I would be willing to do, and I would quit wow altogether if flight for gold ever came back at such a high price.
I can live with Pathfinder, but if flight for gold ever came back and the price was based on how much gold someone can get from selling a token on the AH, then, as far as I am concerned, that would be a more effective way of removing flight than Pathfinder has been.
Exactly! This is, in fact, my personal position regarding Pathfinder. I like the concept of getting flight just by playing, rather than shelling out a crap ton of gold for my army of alts. I am a realist, however, and I recognize that, if the people who asked for classic servers could get their wish, then those who want to be able to buy flight with gold again may very well get theirs.
I donât have a problem with paying gold for flight if it is a reasonable amount. I do have a problem with it if it is some astronomical sum based on how much gold someone can get from selling a token on the AH.
I actually ended up getting basic flight for free on one alt because I was never able to save up the 250 gold before that alt hit level 71. I just did not get enough gold from the content I was doing. I would not be at all surprised if many new players find the same thing happening to them (unless, of course, they buy tokens to sell on the AH for gold).
âŚand yeah, if I am able to come up with the gold, I get flight as soon as possible, and I do buy all of my alts master flight as soon as I can afford it, but do not knock the fact that you can get basic flight for free if you can make it to 71 without buying it.
The cost of flight has never been pegged to in-game inflation. At least once in the past, the price of flight was halved from the prior expansionâs cost.
Since the scaling rework in patch 7.3.5, the cost of expansion-specific flight skills for Wrath, Mists, and Cataclysm have all been removed. Now players just have to pay for the main riding skills themselves. Player flight has only become cheaper.
The price of flight has never gone up, up, up, nor has it ever been tied to inflation. Those who insist it must be are inventing that requirement themselves.
I will turn 60 next week (that makes me a baby boomer). I am pro-flight. I am willing to do Pathfinder, but refuse to buy an expansion where flight is locked until a later patch. I would not really care if flight for gold is brought back, as long as the cost is reasonable and not punitive.
So I guess baby boomers are also part of âthis generation.â
is starting to get old it was old when it was first thought of. a Time sink on garbage content so you can get a thing you want. it is not good game building.
Oddly main reason i play MMOrpgs are for the grinds guess im just wierd i came from playing grindy action role playing games era as well as everquest type MMOrpgs.
