Is pathfinder starting to get old?

Patch 8.2. Most likely. You’ll just have to wait.

Be randomly dismounted because of zone phasing and fall to my death tyvm

OK I won’t knock. I just never heard of that. All of my 49 toons have at least 250g by the time they are 60.

New players? Haven’t seen any of those around for a long time. I brought three in before 7.35 – all are gone now.

It was interesting in WoD, but it got old in Legion.

I would much rather have the original way we got flight, at level 118, fork over a bunch of gold to the trainer and off you go. No silly grinding and no obnoxious time gating.

Oh, so maybe we DO want to engage in the content, but we CAN’T because the game, despite being paid for in full, is withholding it.

Pathfinder itself isn’t that big of a deal but the petty spiteful 8 month time gate and the fact there is a part 2 is a problem.

Hi, welcome to 14 years ago.

The game changes, either adapt or realize that it isn’t something that you enjoy playing anymore.

The devs were removing flight PERMANENTLY. There was a huge outcry on the forums & Pathfinder was the compromise.

That so many resources go into the art, story, etc seems overlooked by players who just devour content and crave only the rewards.

Remember, it’s Blizzard’s game. Your sub pays for you to access it. Your characters etc aren’t yours per se, they belong to Blizzard.

Come back to the present.

The developers didn’t start arbitrarily withholding flight until deep into the patch cycle until WoD, and even then it wasn’t intentional (because they didn’t want to add it at all) and Pathfinder itself wasn’t spread over multiple patches. Legion brought us the innovation of the multi-part Pathfinder. The content that delayed part 2 wasn’t worth it in Legion and I seriously doubt it will be worth in BfA.

Do you ever get tired of hearing yourself talk? Just curious.

I’ve never met a person that doesn’t want flying ever that doesn’t work for Blizzard

I don’t mind having some things gated behind achievements. Flying and world exploration make a lot of sense.

HOWEVER, some of the gates I find wrong. Like Kirin Tor / Tortollan rep grinds gating flying. Sorry, having me partake in something that isn’t world exploration to unlock faster world travel doesn’t make a lick of sense. Minigames in my WoW experience aren’t welcome and I do believe they run contrary to the statement on wanting players to explore the world prior to flying.

I agree OP i see no problem with this compromise at all . Then both types of people can be happy. :cupcake:

I never knew or heard of anyone who quit because flight was available at max level. I do know people who have quit because of PF.

I say give the fliers their own no-flight anywhere server. There are dozens of completely empty ones – this could make everyone happy. Offer free transfers on (but not off).

LOL if you think removing flying was ever an option. Players didn’t allow that to happen. Pathfinder was Blizzard’s punishment on the players who enjoy flying.

Doesn’t make what I wrote any less true just because you found offense with it.

I’m not offended. Just curious.

When you’re not forum-stalking someone who disagrees with you, you pop in every day to tell strangers what to do, repeatedly, like we’re going to to bail from the game on your suggestion.

I try to picture people who do this in real world situations, like a restaurant. If you over hear someone who is unhappy with the declining state of cuisine at a restaurant, do you tell them to leave because it’s not for them anymore? Or read them the entire menu of things they could have been eating instead?

Punishment how?

Doing the content that they do anyway doesn’t sound like much of a hardship, and the reward is flying for ALL your toons!

Many people alted in those days, so the savings were excellent!

Punishment in the time gating. Doing the content is fine but most of us have been sitting on finished content for a couple of months so why can’t we fly? It’s a ridiculous spiteful time gate.

Doing the content I do anyways would be Loremaster and Explorer. Everything else is not even something I will try without flying.
Pathfinder is a good way to keep players out who prefer to play their way. Question is, why does it matter what/how I play if I pay. Therefore I don’t pay and am not the only one who hasn’t supported Blizz due to Pathfinder.

I’m glad Blizz can afford loosing millions of players because I still have hope that maybe one day the again make a game I can enjoy.
