I have a “Swift Windfire Diamond” socketed on my Surestrike Goggles. This gem says, “Requires at least 2 Yellow gems and 1 Red gem.” I have two Orange gems socketed elsewhere, but I do not have any Yellow gems. Are Orange the same as Yellow as far as the Diamond is concerned? How can I tell?
I know the way it used to work a long time ago is if you had an orange it counted as a red and yellow socket.
That was a long time ago so I’m sure someone in here can direct you better. That was clear back in like… 2010 2012 I think? (God I’m old ._.)
Yes, two orange gems will satisfy that requirement. You will know because the requirement text is white when it’s satisfied and grey when it’s not
Fuzz: I started playing Thanksgiving 2009, when my now 22 year old son was 9. Yes we are now all older.
Wonderful answer Etc (and great name). Yes it is white as you well know, so I am good to go.
Orange counts as yellow and red.
Purple counts as red and blue.
Green counts as yellow and blue.
You can see it as a color counter of how many red, yellow and blue you have for meta gem requirements.
An orange would increase the yellow and red counter by 1.
Perfect explanation! =)
If it counts towards that color for a socket bonus it counts towards that color for a meta.
Hybrid gems count for both colors they match. This means you effectively get a 2 for 1 when matching for the meta.
The best part about orange, purple and green gems is that they typically cost a lot less.
