Is manual multiboxing okay?

Can I play 5 wow clients at a time using EMA addon for one button following, one button mounting, one button questing, then input commands using 5 open WoW windows with hover tabbing with sequence macros to have my bodyguards do their rotation without getting banned?

Dude its not even worth the time asking. Youll get flamed. Mboxing is done in wow man. you can seek several legal ways to attempt it but you are just going to get reported over and over and get banned. Not worth losing your main account over.

One button to control five toons sounds like a no no.

Uhm,you’re using an addon to multibox? :eyes:
Even when they say you not suppose to.

EMA is not software broadcasting. It works through the API, like macros.

I’d be careful about automated anything, especially with a lot of people blanket reporting anyone farming anything.

The safest thing would be to just tab around to the 5 clients directly.

Here’s a link they had the discussion not long ago.

I would say definitely no. I didn’t know EMA could do that. I used to use it for the notification it gave you when /follow was broken. But it really annoyed me because despite the quest log scrollbar it gave you, the font was very hard to read.

Pick a lead. Put the others on /follow one at a time, which takes like 2 seconds.

I believe the rule or thumb is 1 button = 1 action period. Its no longer per client.

I report anyone I see farming, Rogues, Mages, Warriors, Paladins, Pandas etc.

Gotta be careful out there.

In what way is it “careful” to report everyone you see?

You forgot to add farming at the end.

I report all multoboxers and let blizz sort em out later

Everyone you see farming you report. Which in a lot of places is either everyone, and you report solo players also. Because they’re farming. And everyone who farms solo is clearly a multiboxer.

You’re never going to get a straight answer from the people that matter. People have been asking blues for years about what is “ok” and “not ok” when it comes to multiboxing, and they’ll all respond the same thing, avoid third party software that automates inputs.

Technically yes.

But it’s not safe to have multiple characters connected at once in the same area even if you aren’t doing anything with them. They will be reported because people don’t realize only the key copying is banned.

There’s a chance Bliz won’t investigate and will just ban you. Your best bet is to cancel all but two of your accounts and use one to play and one to do AH stuff with.

Dont ask us, we all have our subjective opinion. Ask Blizzard - or at least read their input.

In particular:

that use of all software or hardware mechanisms used to mirror commands to multiple World of Warcraft accounts at the same time, or to automate or streamline multiboxing in any way may result in account penalties.

I think that answers your question.

Why do AH stuff even if you hate it? That makes zero sense. Lots of people don’t like spending all their time at the AH pretending to be a tycoon and using automated software to list and relist and relist while trying to snipe everybody else’s listings.
