Is LFR heading for the chopping block?

no where near as good I bet.
The removal of it killed world quests for me

Same, world quests are pointless now. Rewards are just crap.

Was this one a couple of weeks back? Or a new one? I just didn’t remember much being said about it so I’m wondering if I’ve missed one.

I wouldn’t be too scared though, it’s very unlikely that LFG in any form will be removed.

Just join a casual guild and move it up to there.
Trust me, people love running off cliffs in Nyalotha, they are practically begging for it.

they should have at least made it so world quests can forge up to the level of normal raid gear.
That way raiders can’t complain its mandatory to grind for and we could still have fun.

How come? Titanforging is removed not scaling right?

Was the first one when they was having a discussion about Covenants. I can find the clip give me a few moments. I’m worried I’ll get reported when posting it though because people get super weird about that.

Around 1 to 2 minutes after this point.

I doubt it. A while ago, Blizzard said if LFR didn’t exist, they wouldn’t design raids either because such a small group of the population actually bothers with organized raiding.

I doubt LFR will go anywhere. If it does, it wouldn’t bother me, nor effect me because all I do is organized raiding with the guild I’m head of. But I do think the uproar over it would be hilarious. And bad.

Ahhh the beautiful moment when Ghostcrawler came out and told everyone to “git gud”. That was a time to be alive!

It’s a shame that they almost immediately doubled back with a new post I think within a month of that one and basically said “yeah we agree 30% completion rate for heroics is too low” and then the nerfed the hell out of them.

RiP engaging LFG content.

Will it be removed? No. Will it be revamped? Probably.

We’ve had so many iterations of LFR over the years - difficult to face roll, over-rewarding to lacking rewards - and every change brings another set of problems and a different group of people complaining. I don’t know how it gets revamped, but it should remain at the very least; I feel all players are entitled to at least see the game’s story unfold and conclude as it does in raid environments.

They’re getting rid of emissaries, though, which brought current gear up to as high as 445. I think they’re replacing them with…tea parties, which sound like they won’t be giving any gear. Without a chance at gear, there’s no reason to play.

I expect this will be a raid/push high keys/rated pvp or die expansion. In the end it’s wow that will be dying.

Cheers thanks for that friend. I must have just missed it when listening to it. I’ll have another listen.

It was very very brief. I think he kept it that way cause he knew it would cause anxiety.

Titanforging certainly gave an incentive to repeat a quest where you already had the exact reward, because there was a possibility it might be a slight upgrade.

My slogan:
if you can’t queue for it, remove it!

Ion should remove all non-queueable content in this game.
Thank you.

No they aren’t. They’re back, Ion literally called them emissaries in an interview but they’re in-game referred to as “Callings” and they have a shiny new UI.

Except Blizzard says it was.

Gee, who am I going to believe?

Which was a pity. I liked the hard Cata dungeons, and I am a terrible player who has never gone past LFR.

Wipe, wipe, wipe. Get some better gear. Wipe less. Get even more better gear. Now clearing the dungeon.

Ah, but those were the days of valour points. Can’t let people progress like that. Final Fantasy XIV is a graveyard because they have currency gear.

Oh, wait. FF14 has tons of people. So what is Blizzard’s excuse again for not having valour points?

They’re going back to the raid-or-die mantra of WoD, though they have thrown in M+ into the mix.

But basically, if you aren’t pushing content, no gear for you. It’s certainly made the elites happy.

Wonder what it will do to the subscription numbers.

I mean… is that wrong? If you aren’t “pushing content” in any form, absolutely no M+, no raid content, and no PvP, you’ll still be able to progress Renown and you’ll still be able to acquire legendaries. I question why you need gear that surpasses emissary gear if you’re not doing any content though.

I know there is a section of the playerbase (whose size I do not know, but I suspect it is significant) would be very unhappy with its removal. But I honestly think it would be better for the game, and long term would even be better for most of those players.

pvp and valor vendors are very difficult to find according to blizzard sagely nod

When people say “remove LFR and make current content a bit more difficult” they don’t realize people really aren’t that good and increasing difficulty for them will make them just quit.
