I have a Lv 60 geared warr from Classic days.
Lion Heart helm + MC gear and weps/offset and he’s a complete monster in Outlands as i’m just mowing through packs of mobs in Hellfire.
As fun as he is to play, I want to know the future of making this warrior.

Can I tank Prot for dungeons 60 - 70?
-
Will I get raid spot as Prot or DPS Warrior?
-
How is Warrior in TBC Arena/PvP?
Thank you.
yes you can tank dungeons
if a guild/pug will take you
How does Warr tanking work? I heard everyone on Reddit saying Warriors were the worst tanks.
I used to play Pally so i’m familiar with the AoE tanks and the insane amount of threat generators it has.
you smack things and hold threat. have to work a bit harder than a pally though
every tank can do every piece of content. it being the “worst” is like asking for your 3 favorite flavors of ice cream and then being given your third favorite instead of the others.

anything you do know is for LK keep that in mind
If you want to make things harder for no reason sure, but warrior tanks sucks at this point in tbc.
Ok you seem to know what you’re talking about.
Why do they suck? And is it still trash in 60 - 70 Normal dungeons? I just wanted to run Prot to avoid questing.
they “suck” cause you can’t stack a spell cleave group and zug through a dungeon or raid without thinking. they take a bit of time to set up threat which just means they’re slower than pallies
Ohhhh so they’re like more single target than AoE, makes sense.

yes you can tank 60-70 in any warr spec. The best imo isa hybrid with fury until sweeping strikes+weapon mastery, prot until imp taunt (no mit talents besides imp shield block) and rest up to u. There is no reason to spec devastate before kara/heroics imo, gimps your aoe threat and clearing speed and solo ability

probably not tbh, pub raids especially are difficult to join as a prot warr at this stage even with amazing gear. Usually the tanks are hosting the run and there is no need for a warr. also a general attitude of prot being bad due to it being harder to play than the other tanks. As for dps warr, there’s usually only 1 or 2 per guild raid, so they’re all decked out now and it’s a hard spot to break into

very good and it is fairly easy to gear up now with the recent changes. but by the time you hit 70 the expansion will probably be nearly over judging by the accelerated pace they have had thus far
overall i would stick with it, super fun class, yes difficult to join pubs but just play well and you will make friends very quickly
meant to post this on my warr char anyway he is my main alt, a prot warr, had a great time in tbc with warr as my casual character
Pallies do aoe better, bears do single target better. Both take less damage than warriors do.
On the plus side, in wrath prot warriors will be dungeon monsters with shockwave for snap aoe threat.
very good in 2s and 5s(i highly suggest you play with a shaman to go flurry, endless rage is just boring as f)
ok in 3s
viable for sure
pve is not my thing so i will let some1 else answer

if you’re credit card if full? then it’s never too late.
buy leveling boost
buy gold to get any in game boosts
buy gear from everywhere with the gold you bought.
gz you have pretty cool gear and you can fit anywhere.

in pvp we are almost full pvp based
you could use some blacksmithing and jewelcrafting pieces too
Right now Prot Warriors are the hardest tanks to play, so many are bad, which can taint their reputation a bit. But they’re the most fun tank to play, so there’s that. I dont think it matters either way for leveling though, tbh… people will give their first born for any tank while leveling.
In PvP Arms Warriors are strong in both TBC and WOTLK. In wotlk, even Prot becomes viable in PvP with the proper gear and comp.

They’re very gear dependent so it will be kinda rough early going. But on the plus, between badges and arena points being just handed out you can get some really incredible gear in a relatively short period of time.
And they’re, once again, the top DPS class for WOTLK as well. Continuing the streak for 3 straight expansions in spite of what the naive nay-sayers said coming into TBC
I rememeber them being pretty damn good in Cata and MoP PvE too. Really cant go wrong with Warrior.
