Looking at another year+ of Fire Mage dominance, there needs to be something to slim down their enormous kit, and I think reducing their ability to DB->Poly someone would be the best way. They already have 3 CC abilities on 3 different school trees so they are less effected by interrupts than any other caster. Getting rid of their two seperate CC DRs, which is something that has almost universally done to other classes, would be the best to reign them back in. And if any mage wants to say it would be impossible to land a poly, that’s why you have shimmer.
Also nerf Combust.

No, polymorph is a casted ability therefore players should be rewarded for using a cast in this crazy meta. Casting a spell is very skillful atm.
Except they have three schools of cc.

Yes, that’s why we aren’t nerfing Polymorph, we are nerfing DB, which is instant cast.

I can’t believe that DB is 20sec CD, 4 sec aoe CC, and it has an insane wide angle/range. It’s the easiest “skill-shot” ability to hit.
It’s like the dream instant CC ability in the game.
Just imagine if hunter’s Bursting Shot (30 sec) had the same hit box area as DB. Instead, it bugs out 25% of the time I try to use it.

It’s arguably the buggiest ability in the game. When I hit lvl 60 I didn’t even have it key-bound and forgot to it use it most of the time cus I thought it doesn’t do anything lmao
The biggest difference between firemage now and in 8.3, when it was still good, is triune. Being that tanky in this meta, with block and caut and seed, AND doing all the same stuff that fmage has been doing for a few years now is what makes them dumb. If they actually died, the rest of this wouldn’t be such a problem.
Imo, blizz is on track with the repeated triune nerfs, and they need to keep nerfing it further. and give bust a few taps while at it.
Name 1 hunter ability that isn’t bugged. The class was made out of leftover scraps of code.

DB should be like blind from pally and blind from dk where it doesn’t break on fire damage then it can share the DR with sheep
Can my Scatter Shot not break on Rapid Fire dmg as well? That’d be great lol. Or maybe have it not DR with Freezing Trap? Or perhaps, have it baseline and not an honor talent?

Nah, first you get stunned on bolt. Then you try again and get incapped on bolt. Then you get gripped. Then you get lined. Kicks are ready again
Meanwhile the melee pumps without counterplay, amazing.
I mean, honestly. Imagine Shadowfury was instant cast and had 20s CD like it used to be. Nah, better make it a 1.5s hardcast 3s stun on a minute CD xdddddddddd
I don’t think so, however Dragon’s Breath being able to guarantee so many resets, openers and burst windows is just silly at this point. An ability with such a low CD shouldn’t be that strong.
However nerfing it is tricky because you risk making it useless, maybe reduce it to where you have a split second to interrupt a Poly if you’re fast enough or slightly increase the cast time of Poly and Dragon’s breath to achieve the same goal without making DB too short of a CC.
They could also make it a talent or PvP talent to act as a slight nerf to their cc or damage depending where it’s put.
I don’t play Mage so I’m not sure exactly what they could do without gutting the ability though but doing nothing is the wrong move.

Just because there’s some specs at 2400 doesn’t mean the spec doesn’t have problems. Assassination is garbage but there’s a couple who managed to get 2400+.
