You’re missing the overall point of that being a thing at all is a problem. People with weakauras and addons to auto whisper priests are prime examples of what makes this spell toxic.
Yes actually. For the vast majority of raiders, once you’ve cleared the raid the only real reason to reclear is to try and parse/beat your previous DPS. M+ has destroyed any reason to farm gear from the raid by giving away effectively free mythic ilvl gear.
It’s not fun to have your class power tied behind an external buff that can boost your overall DPS by over 20%.
So put whispers in another window and ignore that window til you are done with the raid/dungeon.
People can be toxic. Abilities are not.
because getting spammed in whispers for PI is meaningful lol.
Guns don’t kill people, people whispering Priests for PI kill people.
I mean, giving it to the bear on a massive m+ pull when they have incarn/frenzy up isn’t a bad choice
wanna run some keys?
Lmao…I probably will be running some keys this weekend (or sometime) with other forumites.
- It’s a reason.
- It’s not cool to get boosted by a singular ability above the rest of the raid. You basically don’t exist for the rest of the dps-ers.
- Seeing those PI logs, in top 100 as an example, means those guys were boosted there and do not deserve the spots.
- You can’t be competitive with anyone getting PI, you know it and they know it’s a “cheat”, a crutch.
I have mixed feelings about PI. But, if we are going to have PI, I think it should be available to more classes.
Although PI is not as impactful as lust, it is still a pretty significant buff. So, it is very limiting for comps that literally only one class can provide it.
because people getting 5+ PIs in a raid boss fight is great for the game right?
be kind of nice if WCL would ignore PI that isn’t self cast, as far as parses go at least.
I mean, if the boss dies, sure?
So your solution is to just ignore chat. Great take…
With no PI how will we calculate circumferences?
My solution is to ignore people begging. It is a great take.
I feel like if people used “Ignore them” as a solution more often, that would solve a lot of problems.
Very true.
If people have fun a certain way, don’t try to fight it. That’s simple rule if you want to make it so people have fun playing the game. That’s why so many people hate the aoe cap, because it just isn’t fun. (and it doesn’t work)
The point isn’t about parsing but what makes it fun and all I see from people is they like it just to piss off other people like covenants were discussed early on.
If they don’t want content where people care about dps they should just not make content where dps is relevant as people will want to care about dps then.
There is also the easy solution to make it so PI is tracked as the priest damage like we had blessing of might before in WoD. And make it so PI is only a %flat dmg buff.
Twin suns being so easy to grab fixes most of the issues priest side though. It’s not competing with a legendary currently so its a pretty good pick and progress to giving shadow actual useful utility to the group.
Maybe flipping it around so its self cast only and twin suns lets you cast it on someone else, or nerf its haste and give it a defensive porportion so it doesn’t affect parsing as much.
Removing it entirely, especially when they’ve already announced theyre giving other classes their buffs back (mark) seems suboptimal for priests trying to get group spots.
20% individual every 2 mins vs 30% group wide every 10 mins. That’s kinda impactful. There are some raid fights where people get 5+ PIs.
