Is it time for PI to die?

Unless they balanced the bosses life around us having PI and then we are just punished if we don’t have it and the boss doesn’t die. I don’t know if Blizzard took PI into account when assessing dps or not - and neither do you.

If you guys aren’t downing bosses because of a PI then you have other issues. What, are you bringing 10 priests to give it to a warlock back to back or something?

I assume you’re in limit or echo then?

Because those are about the only 2 guilds that can bring this up, and even then it’s not that tight or they would have to class stack harder.

PI isn’t even close to making the difference.

My guild is a 2 day Mythic guild, we got CE in Castle Nathria and have been struggling since do largely to roster issues and a fair amount of it is because people don’t have fun in the parsing game anymore because PI has ruined it. So we don’t raid for gear because we do M+ to get it since its easier and more plentiful there, and now we can’t play the parse game because 25% haste for 20 seconds on a 2 minute timer castable on top of other peoples cooldowns is destroying that fun.

And I get to deal with the questions about who gets it, and recruit people who either don’t care about it or want to try to compete to get it. I hate it, my guild hates it, and I’ve yet to meet many people who do raid who are in favor of it.

Raiding is already decreasing every tier and PI is just helping that process along.

LOL dude PI is not the reason raiding is falling outta fashion.

“helping that process along” I wasn’t saying it was the only reason now was I?

People will whine and use the “toxic” label on just about anything these days.

To even state it as part of the problem is laughable. Sorry.

When raiders tell me they are quitting because of it I have personal experience that counters your point.

Stop recruiting manchildren. “I’m quitting because I didn’t get PI” why would you even want a person like that part of your team? Like damn, that is a red flag about their mentality.

Nice assumption, but it was the raider who was getting PI.

So they quit because they got empowered to defeat a boss? What?

It’s more complicated people in raid started saying things like well ya you did lots of damage but you were getting PI too… which made him upset because he was trying his best to perform. But it also just skewed the field for what he enjoyed which was improving parses because it now became a contest of how many priests do you have funneling into which mattered more than anything else.

This makes no sense. Sorry.

Take your complaint to WCL because this is a non-issue outside of parsing culture.

OP,
Maybe we should also eliminate melee’s ability to cleave. Some of us range find that to be more toxic than a priest getting a little extra haste. PI is a nice ability that helps priests contribute to the team. And that is really what it is all about right? Contributing so that the boss dies?

Sorry that you can’t understand your fellow humans, I get his point entirely. Power Infusion is a 25% haste buff for 20 seconds on 2 min cooldown. If you get multiple casts in a fight it is like getting bloodlust for every set of cooldowns.

Now if you design a boss do you take this ability into account or not. Either way you decide - it has effects on guilds trying to take down bosses.

Sorry that you want one of the last remaining empowerment buffs in the game removed because of a side game (Parsing Epeen).

Because it leads to abuse, and has severe implications on class balance and nerfs as well as potential issues with boss design.

In WCL sure. In the general game, no. It’s a feature.

Ok class balance and nerfs and boss design are all part of the core game.
