Is it Still Level 50 That Kicks You Out of Chromie Time?

With all these changes, IDK what’s what. Just curious if Level 50 is still the level cap that kicks you out of Chromie Time. Or, has it been lowered or increased?

Before this patch it was up to level 61… but I am not sure what level it is now. I still have a level 60 in Chromie Time right now.

To play it safe, I always stopped my XP at level 40 'cause even at 49, I couldn’t get back into Chromie Time, when I left briefly to get help with a higher level player. Just wanna know where it’s at, to stop my XP gain, so I can go in and out of Chromie Time.

Let me see if I can find more info or do more testing on my alts. Will report back if I find anything.

61…

but it “should” let me go all the way to 70. However, it seems bugged at the moment

Okay so testing so far on a level 61 and a level 69 has not placed me in the Timeline I chose. It goes through the motions but nothing changes and I stay in the current Timeline.

So currently it is still ending at level 61.

Should you enter your faction’s capital at level 60, you will be pushed the quest from Chromie (A New Adventure Awaits) that will exit you from Chromie Time but you can still re-enter Chromie Time before level 61.

At level 61, you will be automatically ported to your faction’s capital city and you will not be able to re-enter Chromie Time.

OK sounds like Level 50 is the new safe zone. Maybe 55. I got a 54, that I want to remain in Chromie Time 'cause that was the toon that got booted out at 49.

This is our current support article, which puts it at level 60/61.

So if you are under 60 you should be able to select a timewalking campaign. If you are 60 and already on one you can continue with it, assuming you do not enter the capital city. Hitting 61 automatically removes you from the timewalking campaign.

If it isn’t behaving like that, submit a bug report so our QA team can take a look.

Can confirm, my warlock just hit 60 on Monday, I believe. I was leveling in Northrend when I hit 61 and got kicked out. I feel like I didn’t get pushed that quest, or at any rate the warnings seemed not exactly the same as last time I got evicted from Chromie time, but I might just be remembering wrong. I definitely had some warnings it was going to happen.

And my level 60 troll, who was also in Northrend but is now in Orgrimmar, cannot re-enter Chromie time. So seems like it’s still working as intended, at least for the next 3 weeks. I assume after level cap goes to 80 that we’ll be able to stay in Chromie time until 70/71.

Just to follow up what I said - I’m leveling another character and I did get pushed that quest, but it didn’t immediately pop up when I hit 60, it just appeared in my quest log and there was a line in chat. Maybe because I wasn’t in Northrend at the time? When I zoned back into Northrend I got the pop up and the Chromie talking head. When I hit 61 I was also not in Northrend (I was doing the Crusader Bridenbrad chain, which sends you to Moonglade and Shattrath) but I immediately got the pop up and a 60 second countdown until I was ported to the steps of Stormwind Keep. TLDR, I think at this time it’s behaving the same.

The only difference I noticed was that at 59, when I left and re-entered Chromie time, Dragonflight was one of the options. Now I wonder if I chose that, would I still have been called back to Stormwind at 61, even though for the next 2 weeks that is the only place to level to 70? (Not counting the event, of course.) I don’t think I have another character under 60 but close enough to level by then, but if I do, maybe I’ll find the answer. Not that it matters that much - I just have the kind of mind that wants to know these things.

I know no one asked, and it really doesn’t matter since it’s just a couple more weeks, but:

I did put a character into Chromie time before 60 and chose Dragonflight. I got the same quest pop up at 60, and at 61 it kicked me back to Orgrimmar, even though right this minute Dragonflight is the only place to do traditional leveling from 60-70, so if I didn’t want to do the event I’d have had to go right back. In case anyone needs to know for some reason.

I definitely appreciate the effort, thank you.

Leveling in Dragon flight from 61-69 now states you are in Chromie time and leveling is much faster… if you try to join a 70 you can’t and it states you must leave Chromie to do so.

It happened without my knowledge and I was already in Dragonflight with my toons and leveled 5 toons to 70 since yesterday including 4 pieces of 70 gear each doing the Dream weekly
