I’ve been questing in the O’hnaran Plains and there’s all these ghosts. Nobody is mentioning the Shadowlands or the Jailer or anything like that. Honestly I haven’t heard any NPC reference it at all so far.
I think it’s better this way. We need a retcon that after killing Saurfang, Sylvannas had a stroke and SL was just her dying dreams. The story would be better this way, SL was like a what if fan-fiction gone too far.

We can’t really ignore it while Anduin is still there.

No, it isn’t safe to assume that.
We’re not going to run into references to it every second, just like in Shadowlands we didn’t see a constant parade of “hey remember this part of Battle for Azeroth?”, but it will still show up where it makes sense.

Reporting you for saying the S word. That’s against the Code of Conduct.

Maybe we can pretend he’s just been on an extended kidnapping? It could run in the family

He’s not its seems.
In the pre patch one of the “stay a while and listens” is Shaw telling turalyon he gets reports of anduin sightings that come up dry.
so boy blunder it would seem is wandering azeroth and just playing hide and seek really good.
what I got from that bit anyway.

Or, people see some random blond guy they don’t know and think “omigawd it’s the Prince!” and then it turns out it’s just some wandering bard. It’s not like Shaw has spy satellites to track Anduin with, he’s gotta rely on reports from peasants and whatnot.
Next time you die, be sure to thank a spirit healer from shadowlands.

It’s just odd is all. Any time there’s ghosts anybody who played SL is going to be forced to think about it. But they don’t have anything to say about the afterlife and nobody else does either.
I feel like SL just made death way too confusing. When the ghosts of the centaurs are being brought back to life are they being ripped from the shadowlands to here? Are the other centaurs causing this to happen also maw walkers?
It’s easier if we just retcon the whole thing

Yep.
Pretty sure maldraxxus, hell others too, would have words for all the DK players. a class that exists to steal spirits from the shadowland to raise the dead.
so…you are the one who one day took some of our top people! Dude…why you got to be poaching our people like that! not cool bro, not cool.
this is how it should have gone down.
which is what DK’s did in legion as we reformed the 4 horseman. and well our little travel buddies. and unholy raises armies of the things.
the orc for sure would have come from maldraxxus at least. the orc who for reasons…doesn’t say dude, why I am here let me tell you about the afterlife.
I at least would have asked that on my dk. Hey man…what happens when I true die one day. you’ve been there for years.
well, goes the orc…you see the arbiter and they pick a home for ya. and so on.

There actually was a reference to Shadowlands I found down in Ohn’Ahran Plains (24.68 57.55). There were some sparkling mushrooms (Dreamy Shroom if I am remembering correctly) that you can click on, and a blue druid looking bear will appear and mention Ardendweald. I found 2 more but each time I clicked on it then his form showed up sleeping.

Fair enough, I must have missed that
I don’t know, but if they ever bring up the S H A D O W L A N D S, then I will probably have to cover my ears and my eyes so then I am not exposed to the naughty mentions of that word.
raising undead doesnt necessarily mean taking souls from the shadowlands… those are all mindless undead.
As for spirits…many cultures in Azeroth can commune with spirits and none of them ever mentioned the shadowlands before or after…so idk

true. but the horsemen are an issue that sticks.
as are all player dk’s lol.
As bastion when we died should have sent a supersized smurf for us.
so that smurf would have been going wth,no body, no soul. calls up dispatch.
Dispatch, there ain’t no soul for pick up here. Did you give me a bad address?
Dispatch is going no dude. Look harder…oh wait. Do you see an emo looking person wearing lots of plate armour nearby. glowing blue eyes? undead looking just walking around?
Yes…yes I do. how did you know?
Crap, Some people are making death knights again. azeroth is freaky like that. come on back, we’ll get that soul when they true die.

To be fair, talking with a bunch of ghosts would be a perfectly appropriate place to reference Shadowlands.

Not really.
Bastion we collect up old boy all nice and freshly de-bodied. to then stick in the chute straight to the maw.
we really were better off not knowing here. now while the books mention other realms to “tie off” that loose ends. One remains.
the blue men and women in toga’s are really efficient at their job. so ghosts lingering for years after…now makes no sense.
souls got places to be. working 24/7 in their afterlife job. no breaks, not PTO. hell they don’t even get paid to work.
why I make the joke DH’s get the best death. In a way the twisting nether is better. it sucks…but at least it doesn’t lie about it.
I don’t deem working 24/7 no days off no pay…“heaven” lol… that is jsut me.

According to S*****lands lore, there are an infinite amount of afterlives besides what we saw; we just saw the 4 main ones. There can theoretically be one for the Centaurs, the Walruses, etc right?

I saw one and actually smiled. It’s nice to have spirit healers again even if for some reason we players have the ability to run off back to our bodies.
It feels right to have spirit healers.
