What Shadowlands? What sword?
Just forget shadowlands. It’s for the best
Certain devs, unfortunately, insist upon referencing it. Every class has one or more talents that reference Shadowlands, which I will be opting out of. I’ve seen other examples that don’t come to mind right now.
There were so many moments playing through Shadowlands where I had to roll my eyes and say to myself “this is so stupid.”
It’s done nigh-irreparable damage to Warcraft lore. I’ll be ignoring it as much as possible. Wish it it would be retconned, but it won’t. And the story devs will continue to sprinkle in references, I’m sure.
Yes, from a certain perspective, that’s exactly what SL seems like – someone’s coked up fever dream fan-fiction gone too far.
If anyone pre-SL had been told the actual story of SL, no one would have been able to take it seriously. People would have laughed and stamped ‘cool story bro’ all over it. The fact that something so astoundingly bizarre and nonsensical as SL actually happened is surreal. smh
I’m more surprised that no one questioned or addressed where the relation is between the power scaling and lore.
I may be wrong, but didn’t we just kill a godly/divine creator like being in shadowlands?
And now when we return to azeroth, we are having issues with a puny dragon? (albeit an ancient 1).
Logically speaking, we should be at a power level that could erase the dragons from existence with just a thought.
Frankly, unless the new expansion involves some sort of new godly being on par or greater than the jailer, I don’t quite understand why and how we are supposedly so much weaker now.
Then again, it’s a new expansion and I understand that we can’t just steamroll everything. I just don’t see the logic lorewise😂
I just want Shadowlands to be a fever dream we had, with N’zoth still out there somewhere; having faked his death so that we thought we won or something.
I laughed too much at this.
We lost the power of our covenants.
Shadow lands?
New phone who dis
I’m going to pretend SL didn’t exist. Hated that place.
Theoretically in lore, when the sky closed back up we lost our connection to the shadowlands.
We had about 10 seconds to hop through a portal and then all of the power we had from shadowlands related stuff is gone.
Every class remembers how to do one or two moves but it’s not the same.
Just like when we gave up our legendaries and also when the heart of Azeroth was drained into the planet… We’ve been scaled back in our power level.
You wake up, sweaty, mumbling words when your s.o. replies:
“Honey what are you talking about? Jailer? Maw? Covenants, ripcord? You’re talking nonsense, it was all just a big dream!”
“Now go to bed, the Legion pre patch starts tomorrow!”
You breath a sigh of relief, knowing it was all just one big bad dream.
Fear not, to me you will forever be known as Maw Walker.
Ghosts were dealt with in the bastion covenant quests. Ghosts have been around forever.
Ghosts are what happens when a Kurian/spirit healer can’t find you because you absolutely aren’t ready to go. It’s why we run away from the graveyard. We run from the afterlife. The guy you meet could run…but he doesn’t. That really struck me: a spirit has to be ready to go or they become a ghost.
