Is it possible to retroactively link an account via recruit a friend?

I introduced my girlfriend to wow in order to play Classic with me (though we later settled into retail, more beginner friendly).

Long story short, we’re kicking ourselves for not creating her account with recruit a friend and missing out on the rewards. Would she have to make an entirely new account in order to access those rewards? Shes rather attached to her current characters.

If the account was created less than 7 days ago, it can still be linked. Otherwise a new account would need to be used.

Far too late then, understood. Thanks away!

Sorry about that. They used to give you a lot more time to retroactively link RAF accounts. Not sure why they cut that window so dramatically.

Once I described the rewards, like free game time, she actually elected to make an entirely new account anyway. In return I am paying for her to transfer her favorite character to the new account

That’s great! Enjoy your adventures together!!

Just keep in mind, only the recruiter gets those in-game rewards and game time. As a recruit, she’ll get some bonus XP when leveling with you and you guys will be able to summon one another too.

Did you mean bonus xp? Just guessing with the d and the x being close and the o and p being close. Anyway, didn’t they get rid of the bonus xp in RAF?

Yes, we were aware but thank you for clarifying regardless!

They added a lot of new benefits. I honestly didn’t bother prior because I didn’t know just how much it would give me

Silly autocorrect on my phone. Yes, meant XP.

And yep, it’s still a thing:

Thanks a bunch for the fast replies by the way. She’s got her heirlooms at set up on the new account and is good to go!

Hmm… then what am I thinking of. I coulda sworn there was some RAF perk that got removed. I though it was the XP.

edit-- maybe it was this that changed:
Note : The experience bonus will not stack with the bonus granted from Heirloom items.

Nope, the heirloom restriction was already there. The grantable levels are what was removed. That’s likely what you’re thinking of.
