I think Classic is stupid. I have no desire to play it. I maintain that Classic is just as flawed as Retail, and feel that it is a clunky design that people romanticize heavily. At the end of the day, who cares though. I don’t.
You can go be tribal with pro-Classic people in their forums and laugh about retail sucking. People who prefer retail can sit here and bash Classic if that’s their thing.
Now going to the other’s “territory” to bash their preferred version? That’s over the line. I think Classic is flawed, but I’m not going to their forums to comment on that or pick fights.
I’ll stay over here. And do the courtesy of not barging into those places to stir up trouble/arguments.
Oh lord I’m gonna have to disagree on FF7 there. FF7R is a new game, with the base idea of the original. But for all intents and purposes, it’s a new game. Nothing like WoW classic, Skyrim or all those HD remasters.

It’s possible. Just copy the name/realm from them, spit them in Users under preferences in your profile and there ya go.
I think you have this misguided belief that it’s solely on the companies side.
From the customers POV, why would they pay full price for an unknown game they might not like. Versus a tried and true formula they probably will.
Classic works, because the people playing it, know they like it.

I honestly never noticed until a few days ago when someone specifically said “person posting with a classic account” and I was like…what? Then I had to go investigate and found out. lol
Actually, all the pieces are coming together…
Yesterday, someone with a Classic account posted something and I wanted to ignore them, and there was no way to do it normally, and I thought the forum had some way to make a person’s profile private.
Now that I’m looking at it again, that’s not what happened…it’s that you can’t ignore Classic accounts the normal way and have to go into your own profile and do it.
Aha! Everything makes sense now.

this is what dude said. me explaining about bpd and correcting ignorance is not on the level of “minefield of arbitrarily triggered people.” he said that and THAT was directed at people with bpd.

Because in real life you can normally stay away from annoying people such as yourself. Here, you can’t, so the only option is to ignore.
I can’t imagine paying this much attention to anything that would affect me negatively. Sounds like it’s a problem that has a lot more to do on your end.

There is no reason to bother yourself with negativity, just skip over it and pay it no attention. But to each their own.
One weird thing about this thread is that I have seen a handful of supporters of being able to ignore posters on the forum but have spoke out against “cancel culture”. That’s a little wild.

I’m not sure if you’re saying that as if it’s a contradiction to have an opinion against canceling people and ignore somebody when they don’t have too much to do with one another. Can you elaborate on that please? 
Ignoring people isn’t canceling somebody, it’s simply choosing to not listen to that person, is it not? Not to mention that person can always just not respond to that person anyways.
Like in real life, you have a mental block on people you don’t care for. Here you have the luxury to ignore those you dislike, but even if you didn’t know how, you could just, skip over them and ignore them manually.

The forums ignore feature really really sucks. All it does is “hide” posts and we all know how curious humans are lol.
Tbf the only part of FF7 that stayed the same was the story.
