Is it possible to gift a subscription?

Sorry for the silly question, but I’m looking on the Blizzard store and I can’t find out how to gift a subscription to another player.

I have a dear friend I’d like to set up a 12 month subscription for (they are something of a mount collector and I know they like the giant murloc promotional mount). I can see how to gift game TIME, but I don’t think even 12 months of game time bought here and now would give my friend the subscription promotional mounts. Am I wrong? Do I just need to click through to the checkout process? (I’m scared to do that because my card details are saved and I don’t want to accidentally buy myself another 12 month sub!)

If not it’s not a big deal - I’ll send my friend some game time and buy some other mounts off the store, but I just thought I’d check first. Neither of us are resident in the US and we can’t buy or interact with WoW tokens. Thank you!

Unfortunately, you’re not able to gift a subscription, just blocks of game time.

You’re correct. It has to be a subscription and not just a block of game time.

One possible option, and I say possible as you’re not located in the US, may be to use a prepaid credit card. Some are setup to allow subscriptions on them, but they are not always viable and they’re not technically supported by Blizz either.

Just something to consider if it’s an option for you.
