Is it possible to get Benediction in TWW?

I would really love this staff’s xmog

Why would I there’s no benefit to not being UD or Nelf in PVP. Moving slightly faster if not slowed is pointless the knock and knock up couldn’t care less being able to will a fear or meld >> drink, mount (arguably better option than dragon for landing cc) or meld CC. Dragon just seems garbo even or for mobility Gnome is BIS mobility and void elf is pretty decent.

…wrong thread?

Also no. Benediction was taken out.

Sadly, you can’t.
Staff got removed in cataclysm.

Would’ve been nice if they brought it back for the 20th anniversary with the t2 sets

Blizz if you’re reading this forum, please consider giving us humble Priests an up-res version of Benediction/Anathema :sob:

I could see an uprez version for those that didn’t get it but as one who did get it, I would prefer to be able to keep the original. I had to do a fair bit of convincing and dragging people to MC before Cata to get it to drop and those that raided it when it was current put in even more work.

An updated version feels like it could be a decent compromise.

I’d be fine with a res-up version. Think the original should be left alone.

Benediction and Rhok are two of the precious few legacy items earned by skill that we still have left, and I do not mind keeping them exclusive. There’s not much else besides CE/glad titles that really stand up and earn respect anymore in this game, I wouldn’t want to cheapen the old guard’s accomplishments.

The most I would support are spiritual successors, with a commensurate challenge attached (harder than Mage Tower, at minimum).

So because you want to feel special, no one else who either wasn’t around or couldn’t do the quests are allowed to be happy?

I don’t have original Benediction and I agree that it should remain as non obtainable item.
It’s sad? yea I love the staff but it would be less valuable if everyone have it, and some stuff being exclusive is important for an MMO.

I wouldn’t mind an HD version like they did with tier 2s so originals still have the unobtainable and we get the new one.

Translation – You feel entitled to something you didn’t earn.

It has nothing to do with exclusivity, and far more to do with what those items represent. Anyone can get a baseball, how many baseballs mark a player breaking a homerun record? Those are in fact special, just like weapons like Benediction/Anathema are and should remain.

A spiritual successor is fine, both the originals should remain untouched.

To be clear we completely saw classic molten core get absolutely obliterated with it first came out.

Furthermore it was able to be farmed up until the end of Wrath when players were 20 levels higher than it.
No one farmed it because Tmog didn’t exist.

It was not an item of skill. It was easily earned and farmed by some collectors.

Comparing Classic to the original Vanilla WoW is silly. One was based on the very last patch and released at a time when CPUs can play WoW as easily as a PS5 can play pong and has been studied and broken down, theory crafted and min/maxed for over a decade, vs the original being an ever changing an updating, often time when broken and poorly put together talent trees, and often played on CPUs that didn’t even have graphics cards, and was brand new with few to no external resources to help players.

They are not even close to the same.

Strange you said “no one farmed it” and yet I did, and other priests I know did as well.

Just going to point out that while some classes, such as DKs and BM Hunters, could solo vanilla content during Wraith priest wasn’t one of the classes that could, as back then old raids still kept the same level of scaling as they original had and “legacy” raids being farmable for transmogs wasn’t a thing. So no priests didn’t just “easily go back and farm” the item, they still had to get a group together, at lowest effort of a DK/BM hunter they knew, but more often at least a tank class and 1 DPS to go with them, which is what I did.

After that you still had to complete the quests, which for a hunter required the ability to kite without getting hit, and for a priest required being able to rapidly heal/cleanse numerous NPCs on a time limit, IE before to many of them died, at their peek. Easier than during vanilla? Sure, but not the brainless, effortless content you seem to think it was.

Elitist tinted glasses to think it wasn’t pretty brainless by the time wrath was over.

Really don’t understand why people that have been able to hold on to their weird sense of superiority for a decade or more still feel the need to be so exclusionary. Why not make it like green fire, give a title for those who already had it.

I still have an eye of shadow sitting around in a bank somewhere, but I didn’t know what I was doing in this game until basically firelands, I was just out having a good time and being terrible, some people weren’t even playing, I think it’d be fine to let them in on the fun at this point.

I mean you are just contradicting yourself in your own post but I suppose I could address it.

It isn’t about being exclusionary anymore than the NFL is being exclusionary when they had out superbowl rings. If you want to go make yourself a mock superbowl ring and have the money to blow you can absolutely do it, no football skill required, and this would be the equivalent of a modern updated version that pretty much everyone in the thread said would be ok to make, myself included.

Those of us that got the original, however, put in the time and effort to get it and we want that time and effort to still be respected. You think it’s about exclusion, when what it’s really about is you wanting to disrespect the time and effort long term players have put into the game. Here is the reality, if those long term players where not there, if they didn’t put in the time effort and energy, you would not be playing WoW today because the game would be dead.

Everyone else in the thread, and Blizzard themselves, seems to understand this, which is why so far they have remained true to their word when they said those weapons would not come back all the way back at the end of Wraith before Cata came out.

Then again since you seem to think you are entitle to every piece of loot that has ever been dropped should I expect your next post to be for them to re-add Talisman of Binding Shard and Atiesh, Greatstaff of the Guardian back as well?

Sounds good to me.

It is about exclusion, when it comes down to it. I have plenty of things on my account that you can’t get anymore, some of them still exclusive, some of them have been thrown back up on the trading post for next to nothing. Invalidating my time, my effort, or my money I put into getting them. But I’ve had those things for years, so really I’ve had my time to run around with them all high and mighty, and I still know what I did to earn them, and I don’t feel like they’ve lost any value, and I don’t feel disrespected.

Tell yourself whatever you want, it is about exclusion. It’s a game, other people get to have fun with it now, and it takes nothing away from me.

If true this would explain so much about why you devalue things like this so much, and honestly only further hurts your claim, making you sound more like someone who things “I lost the stuff I worked so hard for so you should to.”

At the end of the day whatever the things are that you worked for that wasn’t suppose to be attainable but did become so should not have been. Sorry that Blizzard screwed you but that doesn’t justify them screwing others.

You can keep your fantasy about exclusion all you want, but that will never be anything more than just that, a fantasy.

That’s a whole lot of nonsense you just made up, idk who you’re talking to here, but it aint me.

Me: The value in things that are decades old in a video game are more personal, and it’s fine if those things get recycled so other people can enjoy them.

You: Actually you agree with me, and more than that, you just want every single person’s hard work to be instantly devalued! You’re intentions are specifically to target people like me because you are evil! Is nothing sacred!?

What in the ever loving hell are you on about?

#nochangeswasathing. And they released the game in phases. and MC was TIPPED OVER by level 52-58’s.

So to be clear then, the only people that can have these legacy items are people that could have decent computers, gotcha. The moment TBC came out these raids fell over, and to say differently is being disingenuous. I can also verify that by Wrath there were MENY groups that were running old raids. I hosted weekly BWL and MC raids because I was farming Thunderfury and Hand of Rag.

See:

I said it was easily farmed. BECAUSE IT WAS.

so I’ll say. Congratz you got a 20 year old item, but your only accomplishment is having a running PC in 2005-2010
