Is it possible for

Well one would imagine that you won’t be able to like/report multiple times by switching toons in the somewhat near future

I hope so as well. That would be an excellent change to have based on this. I don’t just mean per WoW license. The likes/reports need to be at the Bnet account level like they are for the other Blizzard games using this software.

To be honest, I don’t like when people are permanently removed from the community, even when I don’t like or don’t agree with them. I’d much rather they just learn from the situation and stop doing whatever it is.

That is the most common first level that Blizz uses as well. Learning from poor behavior is the best outcome in most circumstances.

They don’t tell us about individual actions of course, so I can’t say for any particular case what will be done or has been done.

Woah… What an exciting resolution. Good work guys. This likely gives people a lot of insight and thought on the issue. It certainly caused me to realize the system’s flaw.

While I understand that sentiment and would normally agree, in this case, I feel it went overboard beyond normal limits and the person in question seems to feel they do no wrong ever. I don’t think they’ll learn. I just think they’ll keep going on their own personal inquisition. That’s my concern.

But… that’s not for me to decide nor should I probably be debating it, so I’ll let that go. :slightly_smiling_face:

Pretty much my thoughts on this matter, yeah. I’m happy to know that CMs and CS are being vigilant about this type of thing as Mirasol mentioned, but as for specific individuals, I have nothing further to say, really.

From what posts I’ve seen in a couple different threads, I’m in line to agree with you I dont see much change in their behavior. But I’m not one to cast judgement and to say that someone cant change is also a lie. So will just have to see and let the chips fall where they may.

Looks like the flags have been undone, thanks to the mods.

If anything this thread has shown us two things. The first being that the systems in place work as this thread wasn’t locked all that long. The second being the system is prone to abuse.

Hopefully the do make things bound to Bnet account and not per character while allowing us to continue to post under the character of our choosing and not forcing us into using our Btag

The punishment for false reporting has been in-game suspension for a while.

Certain posters on this thread have a history of starting threads claiming to have been persecuted for their posts.

There are ways to get Blizzard attention to things besides the report post function :smirk_cat::bat::flashlight:

…Did you just bat signal? ARE YOU VENGEANCE?! ARE YOU THE NIGHT?!

It was not just one person. I can say that. We don’t use the :bat::flashlight: lightly though.

Curses. I fear I’ll never discover who wears the cowl and cape of the dark knight.

I hadn’t heard of that but I’ll take your word on it.

When they first implemented the changes to silence/squelch in the old forums, you would often see players declaring that anyone who posted in their hot button flamebait threads disagreeing with them would be reported, and encouraging others to report everyone they disagreed with.

I’m guessing that a large number of people were silenced over this.

It immediately stopped being an issue after they implemented a stricter punishment for false reporting than for reported offenses.

I am not actually sure there is any in-game penalty for forum activity. I have no proof of it and Blizz has never confirmed it, even in private. I have not seen any posts on the CS forum complaining about it, which I would have expected if it were happening.

The reverse is true though - if you get banned in-game you are banned from the forums.

I agree. And I’m not wild about the idea of my btag being used for forum posts. I like a layer of anonymity between the big, wide world of potential trollers and the name all my gaming is based on.

I would suggest that rather than using the btag system, a separate forum identity be created by each person, which is then the only one that can be used to create posts or comment, and you can only have one of those forum identities per account. It wouldn’t stop people with multiple accounts but it would at least narrow the problem down.

:australia:

Just curious, since before this thread was locked about 1/2 the posts in it were flagged…

Are people switching toons to flag from the same account? 'cause that needs to stop… It actually looked like the old downvote threads.

Post activity (likes & flags) needs to be account locked, not toon locked.
