I have a few crafted items. I don’t want to see the crafter’s name anymore. Is there a way to get rid of that name? I know a server transfer’ll remove it but I don’t have that sort of money right now. Would a GM have that power?
Im 99% sure thats not possible and a gm wouldnt be able to do it either your best best would be to suggest it via professions forums or ingame suggestion feature.

Aw dang. I’m guessing Primal Infusions can’t be removed from gear either then?
Outside of transferring, no, not that I’m aware of. I’m afraid that isn’t something our staff would be able to do for you. Sorry.

If you did a transfer and then immediately refunded it, wouldn’t that automatically transfer you back? That’s what happened when I server transferred and had to refund it the next day. And more importantly, would the crafting tag remain cleared when you came back? It’s not ideal (and probably not going to be sanctioned by Blizzard as it would cost them a few electrons), but maybe that would be a possible workaround?
that’s not how transfer work. They make a “copy” of the character on the new realm, when you refund the transfer they delete that copy and you are back to the version of the character before the transfer. Say you transferred to a new realm and got a rare mount then decided you didn’t like the new realm and refunded the transfer any progress made on that character would be lost once the refund processed.
Ah… so you’d just get reverted back to the previous pre-transfer version, losing all progresst. I guess when I did it, I didn’t even notice any lost progress. Oh well. I tried.

Why do you want the person’s name removed in the first place? was there some drama between you or something like that?
I would prefer not to get into it, I hope that’s understandable.

Caveat: It hasn’t been updated since June of '21, but sometimes simple addons - like ones that remove a tooltip line item - can survive through many xpacs without needing an update. Also, this addon no doubt removes all crafter names from any crafted pieces you have. Not sure if that would fit your needs.
I installed Hidecraftername and tested on shirts I found that a guildie crafted for me. It definitely removes the crafted by or made by tag on shirts. No Lua errors are being thrown. This is good.
Unfortuantely, I don’t have anything “current” that was crafted by anyone else, so I am afraid I can’t test this on DF stuff before I recommend it. But if you’re interested in the addon, it’ll only take a few seconds to see if it still works OK. If not, then, well… I apologize in advance for the waste of time.

can confirm the the above addon does remove the name from gear. Cleared all the names from my gear including the ones i made.

There’s another addon that hides the crafters name (that’s up to date) called “made by remover”. I personally use it, so I can say it works:
