Is it me or WOD was actually Better?

I made this statement earlier and so do plenty of other raiders. Some people want raid gear to be far and above any other gear as it’s the hardest content in the game. Why can’t you just accept this? Instead you keep making excuses saying “these people don’t exist” or “these people don’t actually raid”.

It’s just you. But I guess since you were given free buckets of gold daily while there was nothing else to do except raid (which I will say the raids were awesome but so are the ones in BfA) then I can see why you liked it better.

It cracks me up how bad people feel the need to take shots at BfA still and have such a short term memory and saying WoD was better than BfA? LMAO. BfA destroys WoD in content. Sorry you don’t like having to put in work to accomplish things vs sitting in your Garrison doing nothing.

It is just you. BFA is actually pretty good.

He’s got a point though. You began playing during a time when the game offered more to do at the endgame, and that offers a completely different perspective, because ultimately you played a very different game.

Sure, WoD content is still in the game and accessible, but not as the only real version of the endgame like it was between 2014 to 2016. It’s very easy to say that you played the content and that’s all there is to it, but it goes a bit deeper than that. You missed out on when your Garrison and raid logging pretty much was the experience. You missed it when, if you wanted to play WoW, THAT was pretty much what you had to look forward to. You missed out on the great level of disappointment when we got the Selfie patch, then the news that 6.2 was all we were going to get.

You’re playing a version of the game where once you hit the cap, you’re not crammed into your own instance or Ashran because there’s nothing else to do. Ultimately, you will always lack the personal perspective of someone who lived through WoD.

I know it sucks not being able to speak from your own personal experience while still wanting to contribute to a conversation, but think that years down the line, you’ll probably encounter someone who thinks BfA was amazing but didn’t start until 2021.

I rather have a selfie camera patch instead of 2 years of rogue/fmage/destro/dh being broken. And being able to have alts.

he has no point. All Im missing from WoD is GROUP content like raiding. I can see the garrison, the joke story line…the nothing pocket lint drops…the swamping by 20 world trash every third step I take to keep me ‘busy’ so I dont have enough time to realize theres little content and most of it is crap.
and dont get me started on the fact that I am the peon in my own garrison, having to go find resources like trees, lol.

The content SUCKS from WoD thru BFA…with legion being a bit more tolerable because at least it tried to pretend to be a bit more story RPG oriented than keeping me stuck in combat every other yard out in the world.

Awww…the condescending tone is really sweet, but the fact is I can see the CONTENT of AnY expansion in this game whether I played then or not.

Mists is fantastic.
WoD sucks.
Legion is meh
BFA is off the ‘sux’ charts.

Oof, didn’t mean to strike a nerve for ya.

LFR mogs were low quality so they had trouble getting non-LFR players to queue for it. They even had to add more bonuses to running LFR to try to bribe people to go.
Selfie patch
Only 2 actual raid tiers
Raid sets looked bad overall
Orgrim Doomhammer story line scrapped
Bladespire and Karabor scrapped for Trashcan

How I hate WoD, let me count the ways:

  • Twitter/SELFIE patch. No content, just bug fixes.
  • Garrison destroyed professions, especially gathering professions.
  • 3 raids. This didn’t effect me much but we just came from an xpac with 6(ish).
  • Ogre zone scrapped.
  • Legendary Gorehowl scrapped.
  • Only one daily quest hub to last you a year.
  • Removal of flying at max level and introduced Pathfinder.
  • Time travel :face_vomiting:
  • Jumping puzzles
  • Ring sucked compared to the cloak.
  • No fun outdoor content like Isle of Giants, Zandalari Warbringers, Dominance Offensive, Northern Barrens, Timeless Isle, raising your windserpent, etc (matter of fact, these two mounts we were supposed to raise was put on the store.)
  • Scrapped faction capitals for stupid trashran.
  • Scrapped in-depth Yrel and Orgrim story line.

I can tell you didn’t PvP.

That scene was alive man, not totally dead like today.

Oh I’m aware WOD stuff is still in the game but you weren’t there for what truly made it a horrible expansion. There was so much scrapped content for one, we had a literal selfie patch with little to no content added. You won’t see this in BFA. Heck the fact that we aren’t even in a garrison is what makes BFA better than WOD.

My counter to all of this is that classes were fun to play in WoD. In BFA every class feels like you’re trying to drive a semi truck through a go kart track.

Speaking as someone who never played WoD when it was current (I had quit at the end of Cata and came back for Legion) the only time I played it was when it was “feature complete”.

On that note, I actually did enjoy the quests and “story” better in WoD than I have in BfA.

That being said, when I was finished, it felt like I had played through a release and a patch, not a full Xpac. So while I enjoyed what was there, there just wasn’t enough of it.

That’d be a big no from me. BfA does a much better job of keeping me busy. Of course the systems that Legion introduced are mostly to thank for that, but still…

No, WoD was absolute trash compared to Battle for Azeroth. WoD had no content at end-game for the first 7 months.

Parts of WoD were better, and parts were not. Things I would like to see from WoD to make a comeback.

+PvP Vendors with multiple secondary stat options. It can be time gated similar to how it was with a conquest cap and your cap increasing if you attain better rating.

+PvP gear scaling up against players, and otherwise being sub-optimal for PvE.

From a PvE perspective BFA is pretty fun. I have a love/hate relationship with the corruption system. It’s a cool concept, but there’s very large swings in dps depending on how lucky you get with your corruptions, and it also encourages people to spend RL money on tokens for gold to buy pieces from the AH with their BiS corruption. If the system in shadowlands stays to where you can choose from 3 pieces in your weekly box, I think some will be alleviated. They’ve already helped a little by making sure the PvP box and end-of-vision lootbox always contain corruption (minus trinkets/Azerite armor).

I also wouldn’t mind seeing the artifact power/ azerite power / next expansion power grind going away along with the azerite gear. Just give us a talent tree with passives like we used to have. That’s essentially all you’ve been doing from Legion till now anyways. Make it permanent, not some “new expansion feature” that we can all see is the exact same thing as the old expansion features that you took away and gave back.

Ok we get it people. WoD was awesome for pvp. However, for the rest of us? It sucked. Hard.
