Is it me or WOD was actually Better?

I enjoyed WoD more than BFA overall as the classes were fun, content was limited but enjoyable, gear- sets were rewarding, PvP vendor, group and master loot vs legacy 11 levels though props to Blizzard for finally changing legion to legacy. Still means BFA will be personal loot for a long long time in Shadow leggings. I have good memories of WoD at times but it was not an objectively good expansion due to content draught.

BFA has content but poorly implemented. Felt more like Beta for Azeroth. Always testing new systems and not settling on improving the tested systems. Islands - tested and forgotten. Warfronts - same. Increasing ilvl doesn’t equate to improving gameplay. M+ : tested new affixs, it’s obvious many like myself enjoy some affixs and thoroughly dislike others. I personally wouldn’t mind harder dungeons that requires CCs. I would like M+ to be changed a little but not a lot as I love the raiding & M+ generally aside from N’zoth (sad), world quests with group finder was more fun in Legion, Alt-unfriendliness has negatively affected the game and GCD change is suffocating. Imo it’s the smallest I’ve seen my friend’s list in a long time and even /who is saddenly small at times. Objectively BFA has been worst as I’m terribly bored at times and not really enjoying the gameplay.

I can’t lie I enjoyed WoD more than BFA, but to be fair to BFA I enjoyed WoW more at that point in time during my life and I don’t see myself committing to this game as I once did.

I was in a raiding guild during WoD though, if I wasn’t I likely wouldn’t have enjoyed the expansion much. I know WoD is really disliked for lacking in content but oh man the content it did have was really really good. I have very found memories of Highmaul and BRF.

I took a Wowcation, from just after WoD started and I was just getting into the Garrison (which seemed lame to me, at the time), until Legion was coming out.

Then, already doing that, I read too many bad comments on what WoD was. So I made the mistake of also letting other players sway me; I think you guys did that on purpose, so I was “poor” coming into Legion

So I did not give it a fair chance, wishing I had now.

During Legion, at one of the many timegates, my Hunter went back and did all the Garrison stuff. Then I was at another timegate, so she went back and raised all the WoD reps and got flying in WoD.

I really regret all the (really mainly passive mission table) gold I missed on my 3 mains, by not doing WoD. My tailor even made money from Hexweave bags AFTER WoD, but I would have been doing it all that time too.

I’m really curious about that selfie thing, did they really push out a .x patch with that feature? Can someone point me to some rage thread or something so I can get a good laugh? I’m really bored stuck at home.

All of the legit ones would be on the old iteration of the forums and likely wouldn’t have been imported when the new ones went up on the Discourse platform.

Lost to time, I’m afraid, unless someone archived one.

In terms of PvP which is the standard by which I judge WoW absolutely

I didn’t quit during WoD. I took a 9 mo break in BfA.

That’s most unfortunate .

I like both but I’d say the shortcomings of each expansion were different.

BfA they have released a lot of content and systems but they don’t feel like they tie into each other.

WoD apparently they had much bigger plans that they weren’t able to carry through, so they gave up. Garrisons being able to put anywhere, Yrel’s plot development (both her relationship and her ‘dark secret’ but her bio page is now gone from the character listed in game information).

I’d probably say I like BfA better.

Yes I think WoD was better in many many many aspect except to the story and Garrison.

WoD was better simply because it carried the Blizzard functioning progression systems and class design even if they pruned it.

WoD was better because of the things that weren’t ruined, not bc of things that were done lol.

Now it’s Activision/Diablo3 rngx10 and butchered/unfinished classes.

It’s difficult to compare because the game was in a much better place back then. I preferred the game in WoD to the game in Legion even though the Legion expansion was far superior.

Pvp yes, yes way better in every way… even though it wasnt that great compared to mop.

That and no constant Mythic +. The spam of those become so annoying.

Yup. Imagine instead of content and a raid like 8.2 nazatar and mechagon. You get facebook integration a jukebox and a selfie toy.

Even with the trash content pvp and classes felt better, but oh boy was there content draught

Content drought is better then bad content, imo. People used to like doing wpvp, now it’s just… “wts m+ bla bla”

In wod you only had to pvp to pvp. You didnt have to mplus, raid or grind artifact or legendaries.

Also this was one pruned expansion after mop was the pruning only just started so classes felt okay
