Incorrect. 2000 rating the first week is not an easy task. I never “failed” the raiding content LOL. My guild fell apart, I didn’t want to look for a new guild + the raid wasnt THAT good
“I never failed, we just wiped on repeat and gdisbanded.” Big L from a lil bro.
“Play the game or leave, those are your options.” Nope - we will get the game changed just like we did for Dual spec, just like we did when we asked for boosts the last time. Just like we did for joyous journeys.
Change is coming and if you want to avoid it you can go play era.
It’s really not. The whole point and the draw of classic to many is the fact the leveling isn’t just a quick story that throws you into a scripted end game. In classic the leveling is a huge part and even at higher levels theres items that will be BIS.
If they wanted leveling to be a huge part of the experience they wouldnt have given a 3 week window til MC release. Successful people with careers and girlfriends such as myself cannot be asked to get to 60 in that time frame.
Thats the whole point of this thread. If you want to be sweaty and grind you have era. The current rule set prices normal people out of the game. And thats the market blizzard needs to capture, because the addicts who have been playing classic for 20+ years will play no matter what. They need to attract people like me if they want this to succeed.
Paying (extra) to skip content objectively defines that content as having negative value, which runs contrary to the “great leveling experience” classic fans often praise.
Theres no requirement to get to 60 in that time frame. This is some weird fomo issue you have. I’ve only just reserved my names for example because I’m working all weekend. Yet I still was able to get bis for when I was playing and also orange parses and even a few pink. In 2019 classic.
I was initially kind of annoyed when I read this thread title, because it’s anecdotal and trying to push a narrative based on too little evidence.
Then I remembered a concept called market segmentation. It’s when a company has too many product offerings that compete with each other. To returning players like myself, all the different flavors of WoW were super confusing at first. So you have Classic Era, Cataclysm Classic (lol), 20th Anniversary Classic with a presumption it will become TBC Era, Retail, Hardcore, etc etc. People have a lot to ingest and then choose from.
Yet people still complain that they want this specific flavour of wow to cater to them specifically, when what they’re asking for already exists in other forms. SoD, Retail.
There are a few things that are not good, like the restrictions to use the LFG tool, the force into unique names, racism and toxicity in chat.
Then again, I met some nice folks, who did buff me or grouped up for kill quests.
It is a mixed bag, I don´t like that they rush MC and future patches, so most likely when I struggle to keep up, I am out as well. It will be impossible to find groups in January as a level 60, if you are not decked in epics and that is a big issue with the pace Blizzard is forcing on us.
MC shouldn´t have come before February / March, BWL some time around summer and AQ winter time. People need time to level up a few chars, it´s silly expecting us to be 60 in December already.
