Is It Griefing (and ban-able) when

  • Dead walk to another rez point, or

  • Dead walk to another location, 20 yards every time.

  • Log into another and let others know in a city to come help

  • Take 30 minutes and do anything else.

  • Que for something and wait to rez to enter.

The most fun, log in the other faction and stand with them waiting for you to rez!

It’s PvP. They aren’t doing anything against the TOS. They’re basically corpse camping and that is allowed. If you don’t like it then when you can turn PvP off don’t turn it on again because it could happen again. But blizz isn’t going to interfere nor should they.

PvP happened to people who are flagged for PvP.

Nothing to see here.

When stuff like this happens to me, I just go play another character.

If everyone does that, then eventually the campers/griefers get bored and go somewhere else.

Check back every hour or so.

That is what wpvp has been forever, unfortunately, just a mass of angry edgelords corpse camping their way into the game. My suggestion would be to ghost walk to another zone (if you are in desolace, you could go to feralas as alliance or mulgore as horde) and ress at the spirit healer there. As horde, they wouldn’t be able to kill you in Thunder Bluff and as Alliance you can go to the alliance spots on feralas or, if you have the patience, walk to ashenvale/darkshore.

No.

Probably. That would fall under harassment.

Doesn’t matter.

Residents of pvp servers before war mode was a thing would disagree.

Only if they chose not to engage, if they did Blizz classifies it as fair game. I know because I trolled back, about 3hrs later they were gone and I lost the WM for weeks.

Horde is notorious for it. My main was a horde character. I had experienced it by alliance on some occasions. Now, here is the thing, after having leveled a couple toons up on alliance ,and switching over my mains to alliance, i would say i have experienced more griefing/body camping of this nature by similar sized groups. Horde has a very toxic base, perhaps the ‘edgey’ i’m a bad as* mentality, especially the disrespect afterwards, or doing the same thing to lower level players any where from 15-100, especially in legion area like azsuna.

Honestly they should make adjustments to it. A 30% xp loss shouldn’t be forced on the majority because of the people who think it’s fun to body camp lowbies they can one shot all day.

I’d probably ban them for a year, or strip their levels to that of the lowbies and make them re level again. But that’s me. The only time i will ever kill a lowbie is if they are intentionally attacking and they don’t back off after a good 2 minutes or so.

it’s a solution to part of the problem, but the resolution to the cause of the problem is an issue blizzard needs to fix. A temporary fix such as this is very helpful. But griefers and other wise petty players need to receive punishment, or blizzard needs to limit Wpvp to toons of the same lvl. That’s more so my point of view.

They can disagree on what PvP is, that doesn’t make it a valid argument however.

By plain definition “player vs player”, but if the point of PvP is to defeat someone in combat fairly, then it doesn’t achieve this when they target lower levels.

I’m not sure what self loathing individual finds fun in targeting low level toons and considers that “Fun” or “pvp”. That’s like a grown adult beating up a 5 year old, and saying it was a fair fight. Ya get what i’m saying?

While that’s a very odd and seemingly wasteful way to use WM, it’s not bannable.

Thank you for necroing a 10-month old thread to do the same old “it’s totally just one side that’s full of jerks” routine. Totally worth it.

Well here is the thing my guy, either they deal with that issue, or they risk losing a bunch of subscribers over it, creating an attrition rate. Why would anyone decide to level another character up, if they only get punished for it. If i was a business, i’d put an end to the toxic behavior before putting the people causing problems. And I love PvP, i don’t mind so much if i’m fighting someone at the same lvl, and i die, that’s not that big of a deal, i had a chance. It’s a lot different if they take away your choice as a player to leave pvp, and then force you to quit playing a game you paid for because you’re getting body camped.

Mathematically, it is. A lot of alliance players are gone. Per capita, there are more horde than alliance, and percentile wise, the frequency is far different compared to the two. Is it just “ONE” side? No, but it happens more from one side than the other, as i explained in my first response.

10 months later.

Its not banable as that is part of WPVP and Warmode.

What they should do however, is have a spirit rez NPC in
main towns. Have it so you can run back to town in spirit mode
and talk to that spirit rez NPC. Then get your rez there in town.
That way they do not have to do anything to WPVP and it stays
the same. But it also gives people being camped a way out.

It’s a good idea, but i think Blizz forgot to buff the Guards, these days they’re punching bags.
