Is It Griefing (and ban-able) when

Tip, rez has a range. Start body running at max distance eventually you’re going to be far from the action and you can leave safely. Might take 3-4 corpse run. Always rez a little further away.

This used to happen to me in Crossroads 15 years ago. When your face hits the ground some folks can’t help but kick just one more time.

Obviously, their lives are sad enough as it is. Let them have their fun.

okay…

You do know WM is voluntary?

I don’t think any person turns war mode on to fight someone 110lvls higher than themselves and to be body camped. You know that right?

But on the contrary, no one wants to miss out on 30% xp bonus for having War mode on either, because, lets face it, who wants to grind an extra day or two just to finish leveling?

The issue is a matter of what they are consenting to in contrast to the fact of the results. I doubt anyone cares if they fight someone their own level or reasonably within 2-3 levels of theirs.

However, the big difference, again, is the quality/content difference between the two.

Yet, again, it’s usually the rogues who have no issues with it, they’re pretty notorious for ganking lowbies.

Them camping people might be an a-hole move but to my knowledge it is not a bannable or reportable offense.

Where you can report them though is when they make lvl1 characters to whisper and harass someone.

No.

Maybe.

If they are specifically targeting someone and body camping, it is considered griefing/harassment, which is in the ToS. So, it can be.

If they get on another toon, or multibox with another account and watch zone chat, that is also considered cheating to some extent, as it gives the unfair advantage to harass players which also can be considered griefing from your own faction who are designated as “pvp” but aren’t participating in the same sense.

" Behavior

Behavior that intentionally detracts from others’ enjoyment (such as griefing, throwing, feeding, etc.) is unacceptable. We expect our players to treat each other with respect and promote an enjoyable environment. Acceptable behavior is determined by player reports and Blizzard’s decision, and violating these guidelines will result in account and gameplay restrictions."

yea lowbie starting area is entirely ban worthy as it runs off potential new customers.
Also know this from guildy experience got banned while back although he was doing it for a week daily so get names and report imo.
Might take a while like a week or so but eh they got be dipsticks.
TBH you dont even get honor from people 12+ lvls under you so its just being a dipstick at that point.

Unfortunately, PvP is not bannable.

What I would suggest is to either hop on another character and enjoy your time there, corpse-crawl to a rest area and shut PVP off, or fly to another zone and keep PvP on.

PvP in itself is not, harassing, and corpse camping a person is though. that’s the difference. Driving your vehicle isn’t illegal, speeding is though. It’s the extent of the action, not the action itself.

Did we really need to necro this? Really?

Did it get necro’d? This type of thread has been going on since day 1. So rather than opening a new thread for every individual complaint, why not keep it to one thread.

Yes. It’s been 10 months since the last reply. You didn’t add anything relative to what was happening when the OP was made. They’ve all moved on. That is by definition a necro.

Hey some of us need to create our own entertainment and this is better than bfa.

But nothing has changed in terms of these types of events taking place. The only way to bring attention to it, is to make a thread of it, or continue speaking about the same issue many are experiencing.

My point being, whether it was 10months, or since the 1st day of the release of this game, what really changed since then in terms of this type of behavior?

I don’t see any issues with it. If it was a very specific issue that wasn’t wide spread across all the servers, i don’t think it’d have been regurgitated with very similar events in multiple threads.

The only point i can see in this is if you simply disagree with the issue, and don’t want to have it addressed.
