Is it even possible to kill nzoth

I’ve tried this on normal a lot and also tried it on RF a lot. Combined normal and rf runs = more than 50 times and still haven’t seen this boss below half hps.

Say what you will but this is bad game design when you have so many mechanics in an encounter that most players can’t do the content.

It’s possible. my forum avatar character has it done on LFR.

My raider character has it done with guild, I was a part of the normal but they did it on heroic too.

We haven’t really bothered pushing Mythic to any extent this patch but ye, I’m sure Horde side would definitely have done that too.

It probably says more about the people attempting the fight than it does about the fight itself, to be honest. Especially in LFR.

Join a new guild? Even most casual guilds can kill it on heroic eventually. Undergeared players killed the boss on the 2nd week of mythic so if you can’t kill it on normal then the players are the problem.

It’s not really forgiving, especially the first half of the fight, but once you get into the final phase it’s just pound town. But the first part requires communication, properly dividing the raid into groups, etc.

It is possible. My friend managed it with a group in LFR earlier this week. I believe it took them 5 attempts to get everyone doing everything right.

I will stick to random epic battlegrounds, thank you very much.

do the mechanics.

that’s how you kill him.
sorry you can’t go in blind and yolo your way through the fight.

It’s not bad game design when players have been killing him since January. If you need a guide, …

yes, this is your second thread with issue with this boss, watch some videos, join a competent group, take on leadership.

Who are you playing with? By now this is an easy fight, if people are getting mind-controlled, they are the problem.

N’Zoth the Corruptor is a very unforgiving fight.

Failing to meet the dps checks or failing a single mechanic means an instant wipe.

Once you get to the final phase it’s all downhill from there at least.

It’s also easier to level your raid side to 10 so there will be less mistakes.

The trick is to get his health to zero before everyone in the raid dies.

It is possible once you replace all the folks that are under geared, afk, or don’t do mechanics…

Do not be surprised if it takes 4 or more hours and a lot of replacements. I cleared it after replacing the entire group 3-4 times with 8 stacks of the fail buff and 11 wipes.

You see this is my point exactly, if it took your groups 11 wipes and had to rebuild your raid that many times thats just poor game design.

The fight is fine. People playing poorly isn’t bad game design. Just play with better people if you want to clear it faster. LFR has some of the worst players in WoW.

wait, you seriously think it’s poor game design because it took a group 11 tries to kill a boss?

are you for real?

Don’t tell him that Azshara took me 319 pulls.

Are you new to WOW? I ask because you seem to think wiping on RAID bosses is something new or out of the ordinary. People have been wiping on RAID bosses since 2004. If you want easy RAID bosses, this isn’t the game for you. I’m sure there are plenty of players here who can tell you how difficult the first RAID bosses in this game were.

N’zoth Mechanics:

Psychus Phase:

  1. Kill Tentacles near Psychus.
  2. Interrupt/Kill Psychus.

N’zoth Phase 2:

  1. Kill blobs to make a safe path for the Push/Pull.
  2. Chains hug, Others avoid Chains.
  3. Interrupt/Kill Tentacles.

N’zoth Phase 3:

  1. Soak/Kill Thought Harvester
  2. Clump Void Zones
  3. Kill Boss

It’s really REALLY not that confusing.

There’s only 2 things that tend to make it hard:

  1. Getting everyone in Psychus Phase on the same page. Tank marking next target helps a ton.
  2. Paranoia Chains. People freak about getting partners together, but realistically it’s a MUCH bigger deal for other people to not touch the chains. Partners can eat some damage to get to each other safely a few seconds later if needed.

That aside, I highly recommend only running small groups for N’zoth. It just works out to be much easier with how it scales down, as well as making dealing with Paranoia kind of a joke due to the amount of free space. I got my AotC in a 2/2/6 group.

Oh, also, if your Psychus Group is going insane all the time, it’s probably because they’re standing in garbage. People need to realize that, yeah, they only get hit for like 60k for finishing that cast, but it screws up their sanity.

Can’t or won’t learn how to do them properly? I’m going with the latter, which says nothing about game design.

I haven’t done it yet but looking at other bosses in LFR sounds like LFR might be tuned a tad high. Again haven’t actually done it because why bother progressing something this difficult with a group of people I won’t ever see again?
