To be honest, I’m quite confused as to what you’re asking here. TOS stands for Terms of Service. It isn’t clear at all if you’re asking if what you did is allowed by the Terms of Service, or if it is forbidden.

figured, thanks everyone for the clarification. I’d assume it’s the fresh server. I also play on Faerlina where you can spam GDKP’s for hours and hours and nothing. But on fresh, i get PST gamer words or telling me to leave the server.
It isn’t gray at all. LFG is to form groups to run dungeons and raids. It is not to advertise or recruit for guilds or carries or GDKPs. Period. You wanting to brush over this fact is likely why you’re sitting with a suspension rather than a silence like the other fellow I linked.
You are welcome to advertise in Trade all you want for your GDKP. The moment you went into LFG to advertise and recruit, you were in the wrong.

Fresh has no relevance you have new players and old players spam is spam and if they feel its spam they have every right to report it.

fresh has 100 percent to do with it, guarantee if you mention “gdkp” you will get hate spam from people. But go on an OG server it’s nothing
Did you respond to them in any way? If you did, that’s where you went wrong. Always report, ignore, move on.

I’m only asking because an earlier thread from today brought to light some colorful language being used which resulted in a 7-day silence. Usually spamming starts at 24 hours, unless that’s not a thing any longer.

This is, at least in my opinion, a bit of a gray area…
In the GDKP that I am hosting, we have a min. requirement of pre-raid bis (or close), and expect everyone to be participating. It’s simply a loot distribution system that allows for individual agency where what they earn/spend (DKP) isn’t tied to a single raid group or leader.
However, that’s currently. As time progresses, we aim to have a small core who are in current content bis, and will continue to raid the same content either to bid on OS gear or for more DKP, which happens to be GDKP (gold), and the more full BIS players we have, the more likely/possible it will be to take people with below pre-bis gear and that’s where I can see the point being made.
To be fair, I’m not happy with the way things progressed nor the complete lack of transparency into what the rules are. I received a warning, posted on the Customer Service forums for advice, followed that advice and consequently received a chat/mail ban which additionally means that I am unable to use the Looking For Group tool or communicate with anyone outside of my guild or friend’s list for advertising a raid group/guild recruitment message in /LookingForGroup.
This isn’t something that I would intuitively think is against any rules, and frankly I haven’t seen anything to suggest that it is indeed against any rules. However, I do understand that some people really dislike the idea of GDKP and enough of them reported me that this happened.
The rules are far from clear though, and I currently worry that even if I post guild or raid recruitment that because some people dislike the loot distribution system that we are using, it will result in multiple reports that again result in chat/mail bans or worse.

Im gona disagree with you on this one blizzard doesnt care if its fresh or old servers rules are rules the rules are tough but the rules are fair.

Honestly, this isn’t the place to debate an account action. If you have a suggestion on how policy can be changed, post it using the in-game Suggestion feature or over in the General Discussion forums.
While we’re happy to provide advice and guidance, which has been given, the forums aren’t the place to appeal an account action or debate the rules.

I’ve got news for ya. We’re seeing people coming in here with more and more regularity where all Classic realms are smashing down on people misusing LFG. If people are still at it, no matter the realm, they will get slapped for it eventually. The ones who haven’t gotten called on it yet just haven’t had reports and investigations catch up with them yet.
But hey, chat violations stack. So you can handwave the assumption it’s all about being on a fresh start server, but keep pushing at it and it’ll be two weeks next time.
Unfortunately, our opinions as players matter little except where we have the choice to report or not report, or to follow the rules or break them. And often times those opinions run aground at least the convenient times. When it comes to the rules, Blizzard’s opinion is all that matters.
No matter the finer details, it is still a service. Or at the very least is not typical raid behavior and most raids don’t exist to make the large quantities of gold or gearing up any easier than the regular and typical run.
For the umpteenth time NO. It is not against the ToS to run GDKPs. It IS however, against the rules to advertise or recruit in LFG.
