Easier in the way that there is no more decay. Harder in some ways due to the fact that the queues for the BGs in some servers and some times can take so long that you don’t get enough BGs to pop to grind it out quickly.

They were supposed to have announced SOM2 by now. I don’t know what the hold up is.

Edit: come to think of it, I do know what the holdup is. Many people came back to WoW JUST to play SOM and didnt even give regular Classic or current retail a try. Many who played and liked SOM and only did not cancel their sub in hopes of it’s return.

Very easy. Just play a mediocre amount for 8 weeks and you have rank 14. It’s going to destroy the PVP system. Now at week 8 the battlefield will consist entirely of rank 14s gatekeeping anybody from starting to rank who didn’t start at week one.

This will lead to nobody queuing and no games. Dead PVP system.

Hopefully they revert the changes since it’s basically retail light. I don’t play classic to play retail. If I wanted to play retail I would go play retail where everyone gets a trophy in PVP.

They just cant help themselves. They have to alter it and put an easier and retail spin on it. Pretty soon we’ll have a harder R14 qith a different color scheme. Then they’ll make it really easy for every class to get a legendary. Its honestly a bad joke that Blizzard cant just lwt classic be classic. They’re infected. I’ve already unsubbed unfortunately.

its still an unhealthy grind that they need to nerf a bit more. 500k is still a lot on the ally side. Unless they want everyone re rolling horde come fresh they might want to make a few more adjustments.

It’s unhealthy to climb everest, yet people do it. Not everyone has to have a photograph with them at the summit of everest. If someone wants to put in the time for rank 14, then let them. You don’t have to. I’ve never had rank 14. The fun was seeing how far I could take it, and meet the people I meet in the trenches. That’s not going to happen anymore now. Most people ranking will be capped by day 2 or 3. And no ranking will happen after everyone and their mother is rank 14, controlling the entire field for every queue pop.

Sometimes the fun is the journey, not the destination. But consistently, now Blizzard sees destinations as the only thing that matters. Everyone has to have access to every reward. It’s just dumb. It’s this new age “equity” garbage infecting classic now.

Overall way easier. I think SOME people had it easier in 2019 classic, those guys who specifically transferred to dead servers like the 1 brazil server so they could cap out at 100k. But those are the rare exceptions. For 99% of people it is way easier to rank now than back then.

PVP and PVE need to be closer on the equality gear to time ratio.

Right now I could gear 3 toons up in pve for the time it takes to gear up 1 R14

Rogues who don’t pve literally have zero access to any weapons until r14. This is something they need to look at fixing in classic + fresh or w/e they’re doing.

Using Krol blade from 60 to rank 14 is kind of stupid.

Alliance play on a more population faction, which has it’s advantages despite the queue times, more grouping possibility in theory, more WPVP with number advantage etc.

Irrespective of that, 500k is still feasible and people on alliance do it week after week. Is it hard? Yes. Is it supposed to be easy? No. I like the reference another poster mentioned in a different thread, it’s not an Oprah giveaway. According to honor spy on alliance over 200 players got more than 500k honor. Close to 400 over 400, which indicates that it’s obviously not impossible for a large chunk of the players (not everyone has honor spy so the numbers are conservative).

And without repeating what Partyrock said, which I couldn’t agree more with, it’s about the journey, not the destination. If you don’t like PVP, don’t like AV or BGs enough to want to queue for fun, then maybe the grind isn’t for those people. No one is obligated to do the grind, and if someone doesn’t like it and their ONLY motivation is gear or an absolutely worthless title, then maybe they reconsider your priorities. Those people are inflating the queues, and are miserable to be with in a BG.

You can take some breaks now I think once you reach 1–>4—>7—>9—>11–>12. Once you approach the final stretch of the last two ranks you cannot take breaks between ranks, which means you can grind during each months av weekend until r12. Not sure you want to get r14 on a priest as they gear up fast.

Think warriors and rogues want it as they are very weapon dependent, casters want rank 6 for potions. Also pvp purples are close to but not bis while I think some hunters go for r12 gloves with 8/9 t3 given they have a percent damage increase.

The blue gloves & boots are bis for Ret because of the 2p until AQ. Throw 15 Agi on the purple gloves and theyre 2nd only to Avengers. BP is questionably 2nd (maybe 3rd) in line behind Avengers as well. Healing 1h is insanely well itemized. 2h is serviceable through AQ and tbh, the 2h maces for Alliance are the best looking Paladin weapons period.
