Is Evoker Still In Beta?

Anyone else feel like blizzard put a whole bunch of time, effort, energy, and potentially even love, into preservation…. And then looked at the clock and realized the xpac was set to launch in 3 days?

Preservation has echo which is the real play style fantasy of the spec.

Devastation has… more aoe damage abilities?

No seriously. What does devastation have that preservation doesn’t gameplay wise? Both specs use essence burst as a core mechanic so it doesn’t have that.

It doesn’t have a spec fantasy incorporated into its design like preservation and the vast majority of specs in the game have (other than “I am dps dragon” of course.

Also probably why we didn’t get a third spec.

I find it highly amusing how before the xpac there was a whole debate why we didn’t get a third spec as a melee spec and the response was “not in the lore” and then the first cutscene with them, I see a whole army of melee evokers lmao

the empowered spells sometimes working correctly and sometimes just keeps charging on its own is annoying as hell to me throws off the rotation when you trying to extend
your dragonrage.

It’s laziness on their part. All of the Dracs Ive seen lore rise is built for melee. Why we didn’t get a Tank spec or Melee based one is just poor planning on their part.

I had that issue. Turned out it was my keyboard. Trying cleaning your keys lmao.

I don’t believe I’ve ever had that issue.

Yea devastation needs some work. No interesting synergy, single target is bad, relies too much on dispellable flame dots, bo mobility in pvp, not enough utility.

Just play preservation till they fix dev

Healer main, so it isn’t the biggest deal. Just wanted to see what others thought because every time I play dev it just feels lacking

I’m having fun with Dev (strictly PvE)… But coming from a Resto Druid, Preservation feels disjointed and chaotic.

I’m not saying it doesn’t feel fun at times, but would you say it feels lacking? How is preservation feeling disjointed and chaotic to you? (Just asking for your perspective, not being aggressive or anything). I feel like pres might feel a bit smoother if dreambreath and spiritbloom were on shorter cd’s (nerf the healing of course), or make living flame feel better to cast. BUT, in comparison to dev, it feels a lot more fleshed out was my point.

That’s kinda my deal… I hate living flame for healing, I don’t even know how to describe it, just feels weird. I was never using Temporal Anomaly before and just took that talent, so far it feels better. I like how Echo spreads through it. IMHO for me it would feel better if Emerald Blossom cost 2 essence and not 3 and if Reversion had a 6 sec cooldown.

Can’t say I use Emerald Blossom much, but hey, maybe I would for 2 essence! haha. Reversion cd is affected by haste so I’m all good with the cd it has baseline

I’ll be honest I consider Dragonflight the true Beta for Evoker class as a whole, we are playing the first iteration of Evokers, we havnt had years of tuning and changes.

I’m loving Evoker, but there’s many flaws and bugs still plaguing the class I’m sure will be changed and fixed throughout the expansion or next expansion.

So if you maining Evoker guess we in for the long haul.

Yep, I played the beta. Left major feedback. Played in Live.

I still feel the insane amount of bugs is unacceptable and the playstyle and talent trees are still lacking.

Preservation is the most finished spec. Devastation is just gimmicky, one-build path and flawed.

I made a post on how to fix it. Heres the link check it out! My thoughts on improving Evoker

Will do! pres 4 piece gives us insta cast living flame procs and I think that will put pres in a very good feeling spot. once we lose the 4 set though, back to almost there but not quite

It feels great when my Disintegrate procs Scintillation (I think there should be a hidden mandatory 1 proc built in… or Iridescence rewards 1 for a full channel).

I lean Blue and I’ve made another that leans Red, so far I like Blue better. Red feels like I have to stand still for Firestorm hits but I do notice Catalyze helps soloing easier, unless my blue beam proc more. Blue seems to have more sustain while Red is front loaded.

What’s lacking is, when a DoT gets me or I take a big hit (Quell is must), it hurts. I mean it REALLY hurts and when my root or mobility is down, it’s painful. Shaman was like this for awhile so I know how to manage it, I think they don’t know how to balance Mail.

That’s my take.

I would 100% agree with you that when you side by side preservation and devastation you can 100% see that most of the creative energy when into preservations talent system, 90% of devs talents are all just passive damage increases with no real change to gameplay, where pres as like 3 different builds that impact what you wanna push.

Hopefully dev gets some love either before or shortly after the raid releases, because if not I’m not sure if I want to main it.

Main it? I leveled a second character as a dps and open world character because dev literally bores me to death. Think I’ll be maining pres as my main healer since mw is in a super funky spot with the spec being split in two opposite styles that gimp both

Its like demon hunter when it released. It just needs some more work. Just alt it and wait for them to make it better imo.

The baseline is good but just needs maybe a couple of spells and something to make single target more interesting and some more mobility.

Dh was pretty boring when it launched, but it never felt like it was missing something. Felt overly simple but the gameplay loop was still enjoyable. Dev is so jarring to play it almost takes you out of the game whenever you play it. Just my opinion though. I hope dev gets fleshed out more this xpac rather than in later ones.

Because they don’t have ideas or time to elaborate them properly, I don’t think I’m the only one who realized that this expansion has some details, bugs and glitches that show how they rush it.
