Is duelist "good"?

where did you get this info? lol that’s got to be 2.4% not 24%. I’m no math wizard but isn’t 2.4%. 0.024 not 0.24

Just @ me next time buddy

Yes its good, anyone gladiator will say no. Gladiator is really good and anyone rank1 will say no. When it ran off percentages and end of season rewards it was top 3% it may be a bit different now like top 5% I am not sure but your a pretty decent pvper if you achieve it imo.

I’m not entirely sure what you’re getting at either  Perhaps we just misunderstood each other. All I meant to say was that this guy accomplishing duelist is great, and if he puts the time in he could probably get gladiator. Because in my opinion the biggest difference that sets apart a lot of duelists and gladiators is time invested into games played.

That being said… every season the higher I climb while pugging I feel like its easier to win games and results get more consistent. Look at xar recently in his zero to hero challenge. When he started on his 190 ilvl spriest he survived 2 hunters for a little bit but then died, but was pleased he stayed alive that long. Next session he gets better gear, climbs up a little, plays with better people and games get a bit more consistent. This observation goes back over the last 3 expansions for me. Starting is the hardest part in arenas. People need encouragement. They don’t need to be told they aren’t amazing or criticized.

We can only improve as a community if we help people learn what to do in a match, not by pointing out what they did wrong by name calling.

There are a lot of good gamers who quit in the 1200 MMR zone because people say things about them when a match goes wrong, rather than encourage them and help them move forward.

Best of luck. You seem positive, and I appreciate your replies as it helped me clarify my replies.

Some say it is and some say it ain’t. If you hit a goal that you set for yourself then that’s all that matters.
Now it’s time to set another goal past that and aim for it.

This, no matter what you hit, people will always talk crap. happens at 1600, 2100, 2600, 3k 3200.

always subjective, but yeah duelist is good

Most would view Duelist as good. The 0.1% elite will scoff and say you’re garbage.

Well time invested is what makes every single person better at any particular thing in life. That goes without saying. I guess the disconnect for me is the assertion that any duelist is already glad capable if they just decide to push and that is the part I can’t get behind because it’s not true.

Xar’s experience can’t be used because he is already one of the best players in this game. Him climbing has everything to do with getting better gear and just slowly cycling through players. He had like a 50-50 w/l the whole time. He doesn’t need to practice or learn anything, he just needs to keep queueing. You know what I mean?

Throwing your body at something doesn’t nesscearily get results.

At least not efficiently.

Check out his recent zero-hero YouTube series. I think you’ll see what I mean.

I have. All the way up until the very end he literally is pointing out how much his team sucks lol.

Technically yes. However since they changed Glad to be 2400+ 50 wins at 2400. The term “good” isn’t even really relevant at this point. 2100 is “good” but so is 1900. Great would be 2800. Glad as a title has been ruined. So just play the game

Interesting take to throw your opinion of glad in there while calling 1900 good. Curious, why do you think glad is ruined? Like when you hit your glad, did it feel too easy or underwhelming?

I really don’t see why people care if it’s good or not. It’s the player’s time and money and how they choose to spend it. If getting duelist brings you satisfaction then that is all that matters. If it doesn’t bring you satisfaction push higher or don’t. People need to stop tying their feelings of accomplishment to what other players think. If you need someone else to think your PvP accomplishments are “good” or “bad” that isn’t a PvP skill issue but a self-esteem. You shouldn’t compare your accomplishments to other people. The only things you need to ask yourself are:

“Is it possible to push up ?” If yes, then, “Do I care enough to do so?”

Im not sure when you started playing but the old glad rank was top % based on rating of teams NOT hitting 2400+ 50 wins in 2400+ mmr. Considering that we have several hundred people 1000 rating ABOVE the glad achievement this means that glad is top 1% of players and is EXTREMELY easy to boost for devaluing the rank itself. where previously it was you hit 2700-2800 and you MIGHT get glad depending on the battle groups average.

im sorry but i cant define GOOD in this trash high burst fast pace meta when everyone can just 1 shot

No, I know how it used to be. The reason I rhetorically ask certain things is for two reasons.

One, the people who tend to devalue it and demean the achievement ironically never have it themselves despite how easy they claim it is.

Two, comparing ratings of past with current in terms of caliber would probably result in one finding out they’re not as dissimilar as you’d think. Past god-like plays are common these days even around like 2k. The quality of player has gone up as knowledge has continued to spread over the years. Couple that with people not needing to sit rating and such and I’d wager they’re close. Not to mention it’s not like most glads hover for their wins between 2380 and 2410 or something. I’d bet most play at around 2600+ mmr anyway.

Either way, I get the argument people have. It’s mainly point 1 that I find funny.

So i’ll give my $.02 cents on this. Gladiator is basically a joke now since all you need is basically 2400 and 50 wins to get. I hate to say this, but you’re the perfect example of why Glad means nothing now talking to Flapz the feral druid for those that are a bit thick lol. Back when Gladiator was % based some seasons you needed 2600+ or higher just to get the achievement. Looking at your check-pvp you’ve never touched 2500 or above. All of your Glad achievements are from BFA oooof and Slands BIGGER oof. The truth of the matter is, no one wants to be known as a BFA glad or Slands glad. That’s like winning the special Olympics and bragging about it---- with all due respect. I hate to say it, but you’re the poster boy of a Sland Glad and in case you’re not smart enough to figure it out, that’s actually a BAD thing, my boy. In before, oh I beat you in 2s at 2200 etc etc etc

Interesting.

Bigger interesting.

I’d rather you just make your whimsical rhetoric rather than blatantly lie. I don’t like this character development.

Looking forward to you getting your mount doze. Since you play war and hunter I’m sure it won’t be long now.
