I’ve only played rogue and am pretty casual in PvP. I hit 1900 in outlaw last season during the first few weeks of launch but once they nerfed it to the ground I switched to assas. This reset my rating to 0 so now I can’t be bothered doing SS on rogue when you can never predict which spec will be suddenly gutted part way through the season.
What is it like to push rating as a healer?
If you’re looking for the easiest time to 2.4 in shuffle then just wait til nearly end of season when inflation is massive, then play whatever.

depends which dps/healer and all the factors you’re taking into account
a dps’s job is infinitely simpler (barring rare cases like when fw was S+++++ tier), but dps also have to wait in long queues, whereas healers can just spam queue and deal with the ups and downs
I’d say S/A tier dps > S tier healer > all other dps > all other healers

DPS and it’s not even a question really. Much easier gains, less stressful, easier ability to carry games because you can actually carry out the action of setting up your own CC and making a kill. Easier to 4-2 as a DPS than a healer which is automatic gains.

Give it a month or two and just play one of the top 3 overtuned meathead dps specs, be it Beast Mastery, Destruction, Arms or whatever. Maximize damage, don’t line healer, make sure you wall big cds.

depends on a lot of things. healers will tell you healing is harder and dps will tell you that dpsing is harder.

I think queues alone would make it more likely that healer was easier to push 2400 in unless you were to get hard stuck while playing. Doesn’t matter if you flub a lot of games or not if you can queue drastically more than DPS can. Will you enjoy the process as a healer though? Not at all. Definitely something to wait until towards the end of the season for though.

This isn’t a rogue specific issue and it also is never something that can keep you from 2400. You could have hit 2400 still as outlaw post nerf, especially in shuffle.
As for which role is easier, it depends sometimes on the comp. Healing definitely has a lot to think about and is very reliant on knowing the proper trades and positioning. Dps also requires reactive and proactive plays as well as positioning too though.
Ultimately both healers and dps alike like to think that their role is either massive damage or pve heals 40 yards away and the rest of the game is on their teammate’s hands. And both of those are wrong.

Curious how drastic is the difference, right now if i go 4-2 i get between 20-30 points
People who were evened out around 2.1-2.2k at the start of last season were 2.9-3k+ by end of season, Given the changes they’ve made I fully expect it wont inflate nearly as much as season1 did, it will still be noticeably easier to achiev specific rating goals by the end of season compared to now.
I got 2400 solo effortlessly end of S1 as destruction. I think it took 16 rounds and I never lost points. Probably could have done it in a lot less but I suck. Maybe I got lucky?
it’s easier on your mental to do it as dps that’s for sure. im a healer main and i can’t stand healing shuffle. when you make a game losing mistake as a healer its not a hehe woopsie at least im having fun, it’s a wow not only have i gotten griefed 12 times today but now im losing games myself. not a fun feeling. fast queues are kool tho

yeah that sometimes genuinely ruins my mood for a bit. i’ll be all zoned in full tryharding, and let peoples flame affect me sometimes which just isn’t good
If you can spend a lot of time logged in then I don’t think long queue times will really hold you back as DPS. You could do world quests, watch Netflix, do both at the same time (using a 2nd monitor), etc.
I just straight up have started turning off chat when I’m queueing. It makes things much more tolerable. The amount of harrassment you get as a healer is pretty mind boggling, and you get it regardless of whether you go positive or negative. In some ways I have a lot of empathy for dpsers getting stuck waiting so long for their queues, in others, they get exactly what they deserve when so many people treat healers like that.

Well not sure how youd factor in the difference of que times with your skill level…but that aside.
DPS seems easier to me. Its certainly more fun.
But you could make an argument healing is easier based on time, its just a miserable experience if you gutter placement games too.
