Is dispelling World Buffs now bannable?

But they did spend many seconds. In fact, they created an entire server type to avoid these inconveniences.

I thought normal servers came first. Hmmm…

PvE servers are called normal because that’s the intended experience for a majority of the playerbase. PvP servers aren’t supposed to be for casuals and care bears but unfortunately a lot of people claimed that the only way to experience classic the “right way” was to roll on a pvp server, so lots of people are playing on them that would have been better off on a normal/PvE server.

Are you implying that the game launched with only pve servers? Obviously that’s not true.

In any case, as I said, Blizz created an entire server type for people who don’t want to be inconvenienced by the other faction. What we have here are players who want a pve experience on a pvp server. The problem is theirs, not the game’s.

No, I just thought PvP servers were the next thought after normal realms. I could be wrong I really don’t know. It was just a flip comment not meant to be taken seriously.

Of course you’re right, normal servers are there for people who don’t want to be ganked or annoyed or have their buffs dispelled.

PvP servers are completely gone in BFA so I would argue that if they completely removed one server type that it couldn’t be the intended way to play the game, but BFA is almost a completely different game as well so who knows.

Well, I think pvp as a whole was an afterthought. If you read the WoW Diary you’d know it pretty much was. But pvp servers were as big a part of the game as pve servers. In many peoples’ opinions the old world pvp is the truest experience. But of course these days people whine and complain about every little inconvenience. Hence why pvp servers don’t even exist in the game anymore.

I just find it ironic that you’re stalwart on saying this. but still somehow able to justify this

Either you’re PvP happened on a PvP server or you’re not. You don’t get to argue an absolutist PoV and then also argue if things were different you’d see a reason for changes.

I’m giving my answer in the context of the current game, not a hypothetical game where world buffs actually matter beyond that having them dispelled annoys you.

If people don’t want their world buffs dispelled they should transfer to a PvE server. It’s not possible there. They’re trying to have their cake and eat it too.

i hear the gm has been punished

FWIW, as someone who has/had direct contacts through the MVP program, this is super abnormal. In most cases, employees don’t have access to the live servers; honestly, I even doubt Ion has a GM-enabled account. (Many of you may be familiar with a common security practice: “Principle of Least Privilege.”)

Even if dispelling world buffs isn’t your favorite flavor of WPVP, it is PVP. I’m glad the ban was overturned.

Genius. The game is ruined by sitting around all day for required min max buffs for raids. I think I’ll actually start playing my raiding priest to dispel buffs. Thanks guys.

I’m tempted to roll a priest myself just to target each and every one of these whiners.

Dispelling is a form of combat. Dispelling is combating against the enemy faction from maintaining buffs.

What happens in the game using game mechanics unless an exploit should never ever be seen as detrimental.

Furthermore Players dispelling enemy players is allowed! Hell Players even abusing Priest leap is allowed even annoying.

LOL he wasnt even streaming his other character when he took the summon. how is this a streamsnipe? the priest had absolutely no idea where the summon was going. streamers and their superiority complex. this is vanilla, its cut throat, and if you dont like it dont play it.

Streamers should never get favoritism in any situation. They’re goal is to make money, and they damn well should know the inherit risks of streaming their actions online.

When it comes to GM’s and streamers there should be a solid line drawn as to what actions a GM can take, and in no circumstance should a GM watching a stream ever take immediate action to gain favoritism from said streamer.

As I view it, the culture of catering to streamers has greatly damaged Blizzard’s reputation as of late, and there should be an internal policy enforcement effort to stop these incidents.

As for the real punishment it should be on the streamer (3 day ban) and GM (internal reprimand). The player affected should receive a formal apology and 6 months free game time (to match the original suspension levied on them.)

Did you write him up? Is he going to be suspended from work without pay?

Was Chris Kaleiki punished when he was piloted in RBGs and his teammates cheated?

Doubt Blizz will publish those results, but at the very least there should be an apology from the GM in question.
