Is damage out of control?

I like how this has turned into a nerf divine toll thread

Yea and the fact that the player was at 68% and only took .5 sec to die is nuttt. Kinda like the hunt sometimes.

Not on the same target, ringing clarity was a conduit that had a high chance to send multiple judgements at the same target…

We can throw a second judgement but it’s much weaker than the primary one, does a fraction of the damage, nothing like ringing clarity.

It’s still a lot of damage in the death recap!

Plz RNG gods shine down on me! All the arena matches I’ve played I’ve only had a few where I’ve deleted the other player, not with divine toll but all CDs into final reck/radiant/TV with stun and they greed DRs… All three crit with a DP proc all CDs used it will delete a player.

They typically leave though…

Not saying it’s good for the game but in so many lobbies it feels like all we have 1-2 goes and just food rest of the game… Wouldn’t be surprised if Ret gets the enhance treatment.

You have to trinket then pop defensives

Don’t know man, 1.2 seconds to some how heal through this. God forbid he’s out of range or LoS for a second

How can you have a Shadow priest, ret, shaman, and warrior on the same team in a 3s match? Unless I’m seeing that screenshot incorrectly.

The screenshots are three individual examples - 3 different games. First screenshot there’s no warrior

It is high…

With two DPS you can die from 100% in less than 2 seconds with no DR’s up. Could be a bit over 1 second actually… I took a double glacial spike for most of my HP, haven’t touched my mage in a long time, I didn’t know that could happen… Wondering why I was deleted and the combat log shows in the same second two glacial spikes…

45 -160,200 Glacial
45 -129, 461 Glacial
45 -5,478 melee
45 -9,402 tiger palm
46 46,119 ( 16,859 overkill) Ice lance

Frost mage landed 352,639 damage in less than 2 seconds. At least glacial spike is casted, not that I could have been in range to stop it. Add in a monks CDs with a crit at second 45 and would have died before it ticked to 46 seconds.

So you can 100-0 in less than a second with two DPS and no DRs up. In my case there is now way I can be healed, the GCD is 1.5 seconds if the healer used a single ability you can’t get an instant off in time. I’ve used an ability at 80%+ HP and got GCD locked many times and couldn’t bubble in time.

I actually got hit for a 179k Glacial Spike the other day in a solo shuffle. Came outta nowhere and instagibbed me even though I had Turtle shell still. Kinda triggering.

That screen shot doesn’t make any sense.
At first I thought, oh maybe the warrior was standing in the middle of a bunch of pets and the 25% bounce chance happened twice which would be insanely unlucky to happen, but possible.

Then I saw the lawbringer. Neither divine toll nor the bounces proc lawbringer, and there is no time for him to cast toll+judgement, and the first judgement that comes after toll doesn’t happen for 5 seconds. Plus no normal judgement does that much damage.

I’m missing something or the photo is fake. Either way it is not the 250k hit I was wanting to see. Maybe it’s possible with full cooldowns, in the middle of a group of targets, and have insanely unlucky or lucky rng to bounce to one single target. But not including procing lawbringer. That makes it impossible.

Beastlyjim just killed my arena partner with a 140k hit when they were losing the match. Really did nothing special all game and just randomed into a win.

Were they losing if they scored a kill, though

I have questions about that screenshot too (thanks for posting though). I’m betting one of the big judgments was due to recompense (sacrifice dmg adds to judgment), lawbringer only procs on targets you do not actively judgment, so that’s a bit odd.

Divine toll / judgment maybe procing boundless judgment (ret talent)? That’s all I can think of to explain the behavior there. If yes, that’s RNG on RNG with stars aligned conditions to set up an accidental kill. Not saying it’s great to have it in there, but it isn’t the same as essence break → the hunt

He was with a 2400XP DH and lost to us in dampening after 5:10, I thought it was a pretty good game, guess it was a lucky win according to him duno. lol

I know that I win every game until I die.

Ret into Havoc doesn’t sound like a particularly enjoyable time but I haven’t played the former recently.

Jim and I were just having a pretty good night. I leveled/geared an Rdruid to try and compensate for what Ret lacks in self heals–seems to have panned out, we went 17-4 tonight. That’s a lot better than we were doing as Rsham/Ret.

You gotta be special to win i guess

It sends a judgement that deals 100% extra damage to all targets, but not more than one per target. It then sends an extra judgment every 5 seconds afterward for the next 15 seconds (for 3 extra judgments) but in this case, the extra judgement from divine toll didn’t even happen cause warrior was dead before that.

For the warrior to take 3 judgement hits in the span of 0.3s, it can only mean that he had one judgement redirected to him somehow, that perhaps the paladin was charging towards him on his divine steed and threw the second judgement manually with high haste making the time between both hit 0.3s because of travel time being shorter due to short distance between the paladin and warrior on the judgement cast. Or perhaps the warrior intervened then charged, delaying the divine toll projectile long enough for the judgment cast to be at 0.3s, could be a lot of things, what it can’t be however is 3 judgement hit in 0.3s without one of the divine toll judgement being redirected to him as extra.

My guess, without seeing actual recording of it, is that the warrior intervene, paladin casted divine toll, warrior charged paladin and paladin casted judgement, hitting the warrior with divine toll, intervened divine toll from his ally and the casted judgement.

Is now a bad time to point out that he may THINK I did nothing special, but just take a good hard look at my transmog. Of course, I’m going to make plays like that. You want to be the best? You got to look your best.
