I know its 90% chance to resist, but it seems to have a bug just like vanish, right after it goes off I am having spells get through pretty much every time I use it. Is this happening to anyone else? It only happens if something goes off within the same second I use cloak it seems, maybe just bad luck though
I agree 100%. It will remove everything but immediately dots and all get thrown on me no problem. I’ve asked others but no one seems to notice. Maybe too few people PvP to notice
Seems that way to me as well.
I don’t think its bugged. A breakdown might look like this:
4% (Base chance to miss) + 90% (CoS) - 16% (202 hit) - 10% (Suppression) = 68% chance to miss
add a spammable dot and its likely to hit before it wears off
stole this from wowhead
You can’t cloak something already in the air, you can only vanish it.
This isn’t true
It’s 100% true go test it in duel. You CANNOT cloak a projectile already in flight. You must cloak before the end of the spellcast for it to apply.
If this is true atm then it’s 100% bugged is what I’m getting at this is not how it should work.
That’s how it’s always worked, that’s why rogues vanish coils in flight and not cloak them.
in pvp, it’s capped at 80% instead of 90% because something something reference client spaghetti code.
so when you factor in hit cap, things like suppression/elemental precision/etc., it’s somewhere between 50-60% chance. or rather, every other global will land.
tldr: it’s completely busted.
i wouldn’t be as irritated about it if it weren’t 2 of the 3 rogue defensive toolkit abilities weren’t broken (vanish is still bugged with about 1 second of post-vanish targetability on the vanishing rogue). but at least evasion kind of works!
That’s not how it’s always worked. You vanish coil because it’s the lesser cool down to pop when facing a warlock and it’s a 100% guarantee that it will work. Cloak isn’t 100% so you don’t waste it on a coil when it can still go through.
The spell being projected has absolutely nothing to do with it being resisted or not, at least that’s how it worked so if that’s how it’s working now then it’s wrong.
Good rogues are broken this gives people a chance
A lot of classes are broken, doesn’t give an excuse as to why moves are bugged or glitched. I played tons of original tbc, wrath, and cata and NEVER had this issue with cloak. Vanish is also still bugged, you can see someone who vanishes for the first 2 seconds after. I am starting to think some Blizzard employees hate rogues and are intentionally leaving some of their best utilities glitched. It is a joke, imagine if iceblock had a bug where spells or melee could get through for the first second after it goes off lmao mages would be going insane
I wonder if this has to do with their ‘spell batching’ fix. Does anyone know if spells like spell reflect or feign death are having similar issues?
Yes, same issue with spell reflect.
It is more likely though because of SL client, cause that’s how everything is working on retail
So basically there are multiple major utility moves spread across multiple classes that are not working as intended. Nice Blizzard, another point for private servers
well, back in the day when you were 14 years old, had a pile of sticky socks next to your potato pc and were hopped up on cheeto dust and mt dew
I’d imagine most of our memories are hazy about what exactly is was like.
then add in stuff like spell batching, and yeah.
Spells like this are having similar issues on retail as well? Man that’s really bad if that’s the case lol. I wonder if it’s some server side lag or something causing certain spells to have a delay in activation.
Its not bugged, and they would make it 100% in the future, since in high level arena, a 10% chance to hit is a waste of mana, you watch them play, they dont try to pump through a defensive CD.
Its annoying for rogues when they get bad RNG against a player that, should be, not wasting resources on a 10% hit chance.
