Is classic actually classic?

The only person I see that even cares at this point is you. Literally everyone else in this thread is arguing that this was extremely rare but entirely possible if you had players that knew what they were doing with the gear and buffs to do it.

The hardest part about classic was gear and itemization.

So yea… you’re just wrong.

Ah yes, I’m bias for pointing out things that you don’t like to hear.

Sorry, but you’re wrong. You’ve always been wrong. You whinge about how Asmongold’s twink group didn’t run out of mana, ignoring the fact that they went out of mana several times over the course of their run(20:00 for the first time in their library run). You complained that they didn’t use any armor increasing buffs, which I’ve shown to be false as well. You just keep complaining about problems that only exist in your head.

Vanilla wasn’t as difficult as you remember. At least, not when deprived of outside factors like Mom Aggro, or the rampant lag. Sorry, that’s just the way of things. I get that too. I recently went back to binge through my Warcraft Novel collection and 90% of them are absolute crap. It’s a bad feeling.

Nope!!! But I’m definitely the target audience blizzard wanted for classic… they already have retail players … I’m a classic vanilla pserver player. Meaning if players who return like I do…see what I see… feel what I feel… they’ll cancel their sub

I was sad by this, too. I loved the War of the Ancients trilogy and going back through it I just realized by the end of it all that it was nothing more than Knaak’s self-insert fan-fiction.

Back then… gear wasn’t on iLevel rails… damage just wasn’t a hidden % of mob health multiplied by iLevel.

You could get some fantastic gear… and coupled with a skilled healer, tank, and hunters… lots and lots of hunters… you could do this sort of thing.

Of course with artificial level caps of 30, then 40… some really cool things happened.

But here is the real deal… it is likely YOU couldn’t do the same thing even if you tried. Truth is… .the tank and healer played but a very small role in this… .it was the skilled hunters that knew how to kite, drop threat, and manage pets.

Spec’d specifically for these fights… even respeccing for different bosses.

But since you think linearly… you wouldn’t understand these things.

So you just admitted to not wanting a vanilla experience.

Private servers where not vanilla.
In fact boss mechanics often differed on private servers from vanilla.

Okay. Everything you said has merit…

But in the real game . A boss 12 levels higher than you is going to end you so fast that there is no outskill or out gearing the encounter. That’s why this is so bad. If they can do this… Imagine them running a dungeon their level & how easy it would be.

It’s gonna destroy this game . please come back in October to see

Except… that is literally how it was back in vanilla.

Ohhhh??? I played 15 years ago in vanilla… You sure about that??

And yet not a single legacy achievement or achievement in general prior to legion.

I will not bend on this front. I’ll argue because I know I’m right. You guys can call me wrong or a troll I don’t care. I’ll be right here. I know vanilla wow. I know what’s right.

Come back in October & you’ll see

I mean, people will leave because it’s easy once all content get’s released

But that’s not because it’s easier than vanilla.

People will specifically say the game is too easy, mobs do no damage, cc isn’t necessary, “feels like retail”. They’ll say all of those things & no one will play classic shortly after

So your suggestion is to make it more difficult than it was in classic?

I’m suggesting they make the game like they did in vanilla. Where mobs hit hard & you had to play around that. Right now mobs do no damage enabling no cc required, heals are relaxed bc no high damage, tanking is an afterthought since losing agro doesn’t matter since mobs do no damage…

Without mobs doing high damage the entire game becomes easy mode retail

Only if level 30 players stop leveling and go after 30 twink gear for a couple days. Game destroying? Yeah. no. This is the way it was in Vanilla… people did some crazy stuff… including kiting endgame dragons to SW… you can easily so such things if you are good at kiting.

A boss 12 levels does no damage if it doesn’t hit you.

I’m surprised we didn’t see 5 hunters… or 4 hunters and a healer. Rotating FD after unloading on the boss.

Or nobody’s going to care about the difficulty and will quit for different reasons.
