Is Blizzard really gatetiming the anniversary event?

Not likely, there is something in this anniversary that is returning after 10 years i think, from the 10 year anniversary

so you will need to wait till 30 year anniversary or waste some billions in the black market

No rather than insisting people stop defending something that is reasonable how about you stop with your irrational attacks.

So you buy that first.

They is a common saying within the industry that goes something like “people need to be protected from themselves”. And they are absolutely right.
People always chose the path of least resistance, even when they would get more satisfaction and fun out of taking the “hard” path. In some cases, going so far as actually dying. And no that’s not an exaggeration either. There was someone who died farming Ashran for 2-3 days straight shortly after WoD launched. And i am sure there are many other cases.

They already did this with TWW, and some people were absolutely stoked to play early and reap all the rewards of doing so.

Yes they should.

They finally found something to get rid of christmas with.

So? Adults should have that right. If they are dumb enough to not eat or drink in the process, oh well.

The Moogle event is going on in FF14 right now and you can grind that thing out till your eyeballs bleed out of your head if you so desire. The constant nanny state in WoW is ridiculous.

fomo is blizzards entire business model at this point

Blizzard, timegating an event!?

The kind of addicts that need everything out of the event are also the people who never unsub anyway.

I figured with the implementation of the Warbound system that they would encourage and want us to play as many alts as possible during the Anniversary event.

Tying badge acquisition to the account level instead of per character level is counterintuitive to that very design choice.

Sure you can utilize other characters, but the amount that you can get is capped at a certain amount per week, so you can’t go at your own pace and play the way that you want to.

They could have easily increased the amount needed to purchase the sets but not put a cap and make it at the account level and people still would have stayed subscribed, but been able to make progress when they wanted to and not felt like they had to do at a certain set amount of time each day and week.

I just think it goes against their own design philosophy and makes some aspects of this event feel more like a chore than something fun to grind out.

I’m sure I sound like a nitpicking and I have no doubts that I will still have fun, but I also know Blizzard will cave in and eventually make changes a week or two into the event, so why not change now before doing the inevitable?

I feel like people like you who whine and moan about the event have never actually read anything about the event. The amount of bronze you can get in the first week is staggering.

Do you research before you open your mouth.

Yes, and the non-addicts who only want 3 or 4 sets still have to stay subbed for a month. I’m not here to judge anyone for their gameplay, or their hoarding habbits since half the people in this very thread probably still have garbage from Classic because “It never drops anymore”

As a battle pet collector I did not have that choice.

It’s so outdated, but still probably brings them in a like of cash money.

After playing Diablo 4, they can definitely do a similar end game model that doesn’t rely on gating, but still has the carrot on the stick progression, but I doubt that would ever happen.

it was 1 game for me, to never touch plunderstorm

I no longer trust the devs to be fair, and that’s a big reason why I cancelled my sub
(not that anyone cares).

Timegating is a feature now. lol. They will just recycle items like always.

Play Time Metrics.

They don’t care.

lmao.
