Is Blizzard promoting pay-to-win

One of the biggest changes to Torghast, Tower of the Damned in Shadowlands 9.1 is to the scoring system. The death counter and The Tarragrue are history; instead, your progression in Torghast will be measured by a new scoring system. This scoring system gives you points based on your actions within Torghast, empowered bonuses, whether you completed the run, and the time it took you to finish your run. Based on your score, you will either progress to the next layer of Torghast, or you will be held back until you can master your current layer.

with a scoring system it seems like Torghast has turned into a mythic +. In order to advance to the next layer you have to “master” your current one.
Seems like a lot of parallels between this and mythic+ now. People are gonna start buying/selling runs

The good news is you can completely ignore the timer and still 5-star your runs! Don’t fret and just have fun

It seems like players will pay for carries for anything…

Flashback to BFA vision carries.

I can’t imagine a system that Blizzard could make that wouldn’t have carry sells…Unless they forced solo completion

The worst part about this terrible new system is that you can complete your run, having killed 100% of the mobs, smashed all the urns and completed every side quest, but still fail the run.

If your first thought about a challenge is to immediately buy a carry, it’s probably just you.

lmao.

This is very inaccurate. There are at least 6 carry communities that I personally know of right now. Even the smallest community has 19,000 members. A vast majority of the raiders I know sell carries. It’s how they afford their consumables each tier.

There’s a lot of people playing this game that are really trash at it.

What do you want to be done about that, exactly?

OP this is really reaching.

you give up too fast, torghast wasn’t hard at all to master.

if you want to have an easier time in game, put more effort than just LFR into your character. I think ilvl makes a huge difference for this specific type of content.

i think you can do better OP, good luck :purple_heart:

adds challenging content

“Is this p2w??”

They’ve already fixed that by having 20 thousand different difficulties for everything. I’m not sure anything needs to be fixed beyond what’s around available. Normal and heroic dungeons exist, as well as LFR for the ultra casual crowd. Nothing is out of reach of being seen for those who wish to see it.

Why did you respond to me with this? I had no problem 5 starring torghast lol. I am not the OP.

i addressed OP, not you. so sorry i guess i just clicked reply :face_with_hand_over_mouth:.

could you not put 2 and 2 together? lol

(for future reference, i hardly give any replies to lvl 50 alts or classic alts…there are exceptions though, like this little misunderstanding hehe)

Brewa made an excellent post about this earlier today with a much more positive spin…

I was just curious; but, yeah I figured but it pinged me so had to make sure. Best not to assume.

Actually I found the biggest contributor to not getting 4 stars is death. As long as you manage to not die and you clear 100% you’ll get 3-4 stars. I tested it out on my alt and died 2x on each floor but hit par times or better and got 1 star lol (didn’t 100% clear each floor). Did it again and died 4x each floor to see what would happen but 100% cleared and got 0 stars.

No they won’t. It’s not that hard.

The FOMO crowd will pay for anything…

What do they say about a fool and their money again?
