Is BFA dead when vanilla comes out?

All I hear about lately is vanilla this vanilla that, literally nothing about BFA for the past 2-3 months. Is this game just dead when Classic comes out?

No, just the ā€˜ā€˜itā€™ā€™ topic since Blizzard classic servers is a big thing apparently for lots of people.

Nah. It may stop a bit more right away but thatā€™s all. Imo

lol no.

BfA is already dead for me. I only play my low level alts now because I am tired of trying to do world quests while grounded. Most of them arenā€™t worth the rewards, anyway. This is what happens when you withhold flying for so long.

I hear flying in classic is great.

Thereā€™s this thing, itā€™s called Patch 8.2. Itā€™s centered around two zones, Mechagon and Nazjatarā€¦

Classic is an entirely different game. You didnā€™t need flying because you quested one zone at a time. You didnā€™t need to get from zone to zone to zone for world quests.

Less Horde I have to deal with the better. Give me all the loot!

apples, and oranges.

and you walk till lvl 40, or more. vanilla is about exploring and is pretty much just a grind anyway. you kill everything in your path. dungeons are a pita to get to, and find groups for. then you have to hope your group stays together for the who thing. flight is not essential.

right now all you basically do in the world is jump from WQ to WQ. who wants the tedium of trying to do that w/o flight?

Quested one zone at a time? LOL.

Wrong. So many quests sent you traveling 15 minutes in classic to turn in.

classic wonā€™t do anything to current wow. Like I said before, if people hate the grind now, theyā€™ll hate classic even more. Hated having to buy the next level of spell.

That is exactly how I played in Classic. I did all the quests in a zone before moving on to the next. The game was more linear, with breadcrumb quests directing you to the next zones.

According to the forums, BfA has been ā€œdeadā€ at every other point, so why not?

classic is nostalgia, the beta is something new to do but being 60 and raiding the same raids, getting bis gear from rerunning these raids wont be fun forever. Iā€™m really curious as to what their plan is. classic>tbc>wrath? redo all the expansions? make separate realms for these expansions?

I mean it could bring people back who enjoyed certain expansions.

I think they both have their audiences with a group that will move from one to another based on situation.
Content drought? Hit up Classic.
Cleared Molten Core? Check out live.
New mechanic sucks? Back to Classic.
Classic is going to be great, but goblins are my favorite race so I doubt Iā€™ll leave live for very long. Especially since Blizzā€™s recent crackdowns on model altering mods means I canā€™t just mod my troll shaman into a vanilla goblin model.

I think Classic will cause a significant player drain.

Itā€™s not like players in Classic will be level 60 day one and then have nothing better to do than to play BFA again. The time investment will keep players away from BFA.
