Also, omg with everything that’s been going on, what if the Tauren decide to leave the Horde?
Anyhow, considering that Baine Bloodhoof is a Peaceful, Forgiving, Honorable, Passionate Tauren warrior High Chieftan, Leader of the Bloodhoof Tribe for the Horde.
Let’s read a summary of his lore:
At the end of Wrath of the Lich King called the Elemental Unrest better known as the Elemental Invasion, Baine aids us players in Thunderbluff as we defend the city against water and wind elementals that are attacking Spirit Rise.
In Cataclysm, Baine loses his father, Cairne Bloodhoof, who was slain by Garrosh Hellscream during mak’gora. Garrosh’s unfair advantage due to some shenanigans that went on with another Tauren thirsty for power.
Baine then became the High Cheiftan leader of the Tauren but had to deal with Magatha Grimtotem who wanted to take the village for herself and her supporters since Cairne Bloodhoof (with her help).
Magatha Grimtotem then decided to fight Baine for Thunder Bluff. During the assault on Thunder Bluff, Baine, unable to gather allies within the Horde, decided to ask aid to whom he considered an honorable enemy: Jaina Proudmoore, ruler of Theramore. While in a meeting with Jaina, Baine meets Anduin Wrynn, the heir to the throne of Stormwind. Unlike Varian, Baine warms up to the young Wrynn, who, in an act of friendship, gives the great mace Fearbreaker to Baine. The hammer, one of Magni Bronzebeard’s creations, takes a liking to Baine, steadying its hold on the Tauren. Jaina, moved by the gesture between the Tauren and the human, agrees to support Baine on his efforts of taking Thunder Bluff back.
This has created a lasting friendship between Baine and the Alliance.
Baine Bloodhoof, aka, Echo of Baine can be found as a boss in the Cataclysm dungeon. In the Baine’s boss description you read :
“Echo of Baine: Enraged by his failure to protect the world and, most importantly, the Horde, this time-ravaged shade of Baine Bloodhoof lingers within the ruins of the Obsidian Dragonshrine. Although he’s still as powerful as the tauren high chieftain from the present, within this shattered future Azeroth, this guilt-ridden echo is little more than a discordant vessel of unquenchable malice and anger.”
In Mists of Pandaria, after the conquering of Northwatch Hold, Baine was thinking about Garrosh’s thoughtless act against the elements and decided to send Perith Stormhoof to warn Jaina about the upcoming attack on Theramore. Baine also used this opportunity to return the great mace, Fearbreaker, to Anduin Wrynn, as he felt he was no longer worthy of wielding it for being part of the fall of Northwatch.
in Legion, Baine Bloodhoof fought alongside the horde during The Battle of the Broken Shore. He can be seen in the cinematic carrying Thrall to safety after being wounded during battle.
In Battle For Azeroth, During the Battle for Lordaeron, Baine Bloodhoof, being the honorable Tauren he is, was angry that Sylvanas left Saurfang behind. Sylvanas gave Baine the ultimatum of either going off on his own and dying to the Alliance or tending to the living, which led to Baine angrily saying “For the Horde” and exiting the throne room as blight poured through the city of Lordaeron.
After the loss of the Battle of Dazar’alor, Sylvanas raised Derek Proudmoore from the dead to slay members of his family. Baine, in shock, expresses his concern and tells her she’s gone too far.
Baine Bloodhoof thinks that Sylvanas’s actions are dishonorable and that she went to far and makes us, players, slay our own so he can rescue Derek and take him to his sister, Jaina.
So, now that you know the story, how can you say that Baine has not betrayed the HORDE?!? I mean, let’s not even bring Sylvanas into the discussion because, as you can read above, he sure did this before!
