Game mode feels dead af. I did the retail raids/t10 delves and m+. I wanted to try classic but hardcore is coming back next month. Is sod worth playing anymore? I feel like after phase 4 my want to play this mode is…. Meh? Convince me!
Population is currently growing. Also server consolidation means the remaining servers are the most active they’ve been since the end of Phase 2.
But is it worth playing? Nah probably not. Not unless you got a good group of people to play with. Solo, game is pointless.

Retail is much more fun right now, loads of content and some cool events going on! It’s not worth coming back to SOD i promise you lol. They recently merged all the servers into one pvp and one pve it was so dead. Even with a “mega server” it’s still impossible to find any groups for pve or pvp. Basically i just log in once a week to raid and chat with my friends from guild then log out and repeat

retail m+, raid and arena/blitz have not been this good in like 5 years or so lol. i usually main SoD but now i just raidlog it and play retail

Retail hasn’t been too bad, but you’re kidding yourself if you think it’s booming with content. You get a world boss, run through a raid on a character, do the same delves that you’ve been doing since week 1, then sit waiting for a few hours to get accepted into a DPS spot for M+, or create your group and wait an equal amount of time to find a tank/healer lol. All of this just to fill an arbitrary number on a great vault only to get dupes the following week.

It has a healthy playerbase on both the new “mega-servers”. If you don’t like the game nothing is going to change that.
It’s noticeable less active on CS then it was right after the merge.
It’s definitely not lol. I guess if you mean your immediate surroundings, then yeah you’re probably encountering empty layers a lot more, since before the merge CS had 1-2 layers at most, and after its consistently had 4+
But LFG/Trade have never been more active and finding groups for content has never been easier since the merge.
