I got in this pc basic iris xe
Well then, there goes the RTX 3000 theory
I’m lost, like I said before I’ve done so much to this pc
Run this program do this and that.
Still nothing
On my dell computer the solution was to disable the HitmanPro.Alert service which is part of sophos Antivirus and wow and D4 started right up. No idea why it decided to block wow but for me at least that was the issue.
Mmm strange and it never did this before?
The black screening?
correct … wow would lunch in to a black screen saying not responding and D4 would say its running but nothing was happening…
Nothing works for me ahha
Have fun playing
I’m still convinced this is related to the Feb 26th Hotfixes since that is when all of us started having issues. That is not system-related IMO. Some update was done on the applications that made it black screen.
100% I agree
Regardless of any other apps that “may” be interfering with WoW launching, WoW ran fine with those apps being present prior to the 26th. Therefore this is an issue on Blizzards end with whatever change they pushed that causes their game to no longer play nicely with those apps, if that is even the case. Not to mention I highly doubt everyone experiencing this issue has Sophos installed and running on their PCs, though I will have it completely removed from mine tomorrow, as I’ve been meaning to do any way. I’ll see if that fixes mine and report back whenever I can, but regardless, it ran fine with Sophos running on my computer prior to the 26th, and seeing as a hotfix was pushed that day, odds are that whatever they did is causing this issue, and if it is due to that not meshing well with apps that previous had no conflict, then it’s most likely not playing well with several different applications to cause so many people to experience this issue.
Say it louder for the people in the back!
Just waiting to see some blue text any day now as we have multiple people with this issue or at least to get a response on my ticket.
DUDE! IT WORKED. I kept taskmanager open and kept closing HitmanPro and it opened!!!
Soooo if sophos is the problem then I’m royally screwed.
It’s worked for 2 people in this chat. I just tried and hitman pro didn’t even turn on when I launched
open taskmanager ctrl+shift+esc, find hitmanpro.exe right click and end task hit “Play” right away before hitmanpro restarts and it will open.
I suggest you go under services, stop hitmapro and set it to disable for now.
I also want to add that this started on the 26th also… so whatever the change was sophos/hitmanpro is freaking out…
I will contact sophos tomorrow to see if there is another way to fix this…
You’re a legend.
Unfortunately I can’t stop the service or the process. It says the requested control is not valid for this service. This is my personal machine, but I use it to remote into another pc for work so I don’t have any option to mess w/ sophos/hitmanpro. You would have my eternal gratitude of you manage to figure out w/ them what’s going on.
Well at least I can stop making this spreadsheet of the apps everyone has installed to find the commonalities. Nailed it at the start.
For those who can’t disable, reach out to them to let them know it isn’t working.
Could be, only been 2 people so far.
Hopefully some hotfixes will sort this out
