I let my game sit for over an hour+ and still crashed.
Ive tried every fix i could find and think of. I even did a complete reinstallation of windows and have had no luck.
Same here to both. Lodged a ticket and received the same response. I wouldn’t have lodged a ticket if i hadn’t tried what the fixes on the web forums were.
I am also having this issue and tried the above resolutions with no resolve.
Been causing BSOD’s, crashing, and sometimes errors on launch since the update.
Almost lost all my WAs.
Blizzard support tells me:

lol Apparently this is just my PC, not the update they pushed that is affecting many people. Blizz is the worst. Not like I expected much since Microsoft is really bad support too. Now its bad owns bad and will be worse.
Definitely a related issue to the 26th Hotfixes. Too many people started having this issue after the hotfixes that were running perfectly fine prior.
same issue here it was working fine last week now none of the blizzard games will run… D4 says its running but nothing is happening and wow retail opens in a black screen…
I reinstalled, repaired, clean installation of NVIDIA drivers, started the game with different options… nothing…
Same on all fronts. Today there appeared to be a minor update for WoW but its still the same on this computer, a very new Dell computer. My home computer runs perfect.
Are we going to be compensated for the lack of play time since we are paying for this service and it looks like there is no fix for this bug they pushed out. Yes, I’m having the exact same issue. I launch into black screen. I’ve tried everything you listed as well as:
Full reinstall of wow
hardware checks
reinstall of graphics drivers
I’m pretty much at a loss at how to fix it

I have a ticket submitted but similar to others who submitted as well. Blizz wanted to me check my other applications which I have already done. Nothing changed on my end. The only variable is the hotfixes that were done and we all started having the issues at the same time. Hoping a GM will reply here soon. Been 3+ hours since my ticket update.
Has anyone tried renaming their interface, cache, and wtf folders. Oldwtf, Oldcache, Oldinterface. This worked for some people back in January. Idk.
Going on 3 days of not being able to play whatsoever, and whatever todays small update was seemingly had nothing to do with this issue.
I get past connected then its says “launching game” then it says “cannot connect”. Any fix?
I uninstalled wow then deleted all folders from ProgramData and Program Files then reinstall wow all 91GB of it… not sure what else to try…
NO one can play right now. A DDOS attack has been occurring for the last hour or so.
if all these people have the same problem = blizz stop adding stuff in our computers that do this to us . my computer ran awasom till blizzard gave me bs upgrade = your upgrades need our authenticators so we can see what your puting on our computers . peroid
Check the date when this post was created… This was before the DDOS attack which we all are still having issues launching the game.
