Oh i’m sure Anduin is gonna end up in that last raid and either steal the kill or plan to lock her away before she banshee’s away again.
Anduin didn’t march on Lordaeron to make a tea date with Sylvannas.
No, he went there to demand her surrender, instead of killing her outright like he should of. He also arrests saurfang and then releases him probably a few days later as well.
Same as his plan for Drazalor, doesn’t go there to defeat them he only wants them to surrender and when that fails he decides to let them go.
I do believe the quote was “Surrender or die.”
Which is the way that even Varian would have played it.
Sure did kill her then when it made it clear she wouldn’t surrender…oh wait no he basically only raises his voice at Genn and then watches as she flies away.
Then as i pointed out he gives the Zandalar the same choice after he ordered a Suicide attack by his own people.
Face it Anduin doesn’t have it in him to hurt anyone. He even feels bad after his sword gets a little bit of blood on it.
That happens when your opponent gets surprise on you after making a succesful Bluff roll and you lose initative on the first regular round. Sylvannas does have an insane dex modifier and the mythic version of Improved Initative.
After his warning following the Siege of Orgrimmar? After Teldrassil? Nah. Varian wouldn’t have gone in hoping to convince Sylvanas to surrender. He would’ve gone in hoping to kill her as quickly as possible.
This isn’t D&D and there are no dice rolls, There is only what authors want to happen. (though I suppose Golden loves to pretend she is Anduin or Jaina)
I mean you walk through a city where she is literally throwing the Plague around like its some sort of paint festival, why would he offer her an options to surrender after that. I Mean its Sylvanas and everyone in that room knows she can’t be trusted yet Anduin holds them back and offers her a chance to surrender.
Its this kind of writing that is ruining the narrative.
Exactly, besides he only let the Horde exist after seige of Orgrimmar because of Anduins incessant whining in his ear. If Anduin had been actually crippled or killed Im sure that Varian’s reaction would have been different. However Blizzard had to bend the story and cure Anduin so Varian would have a reason to let them live.
Because he’s young Mr. Lawful Good. Unlike his father who was a brutal gladiator before he became king, he was a Priest of the Light/with a minor in Paladin. So yes, even before Madam MegaVillainess he will offer the chance to surrender ESPECIALLY SINCE SHE TOOK THE EXTRA STEP OF BEING UNARMED. She played on him doing just that if she wasn’t armed with her eponymous bow.
That’s my point though, he has been written to be too good and far too much of a Pacifist to actually hurt anyone. The writers refuse to let him do anything that would be considered grey or interesting.
Not to mention they have to dial up the evil genius level of Sylvanas to be one step ahead of them and know that they wouldn’t cut her down.
My Point is that Anduin is such a poorly written character that the story is suffering just to justify his inane choices. If they wrote him to atleast be a little realistic instead of this Goody to shoes then the story would be far better for both sides.
We didn’t need everyone to come to peace singing cumbya together under Anduin. We just need a large enough threat to come into play that both the Alliance and Horde have to stop fighting to deal with the threat together. Say like an old god raising the black empire up.
If Blizzard wanted to deal with Sylvanas in the Horde they should have kept that story on the Horde side instead of us having to come save them again.
“Grey” that’s a topic for another day. Interesting? That’s ultimately the player’s job.
Night elf and Forsaken players. The one’s who lost their homelands and payed the bucher’s bill for Anduin to feel bad about.
I’m willing to agree on that score, but I was under the impression that the Forsaken civilians were evacuated, and it was a single Horde that fought for Undercity.
The civilians in the Undercity were evacuated and at least some of the ones in Brill based on the presence forsaken mount vendor and rider training on the Gates of Orgrimmar. Though we don’t know if others escaped or if they were already out of the cross fire when the Alliance destroyed Brill.
Plus we don’t know the fate of the forsaken civilians in others of Tirisfal like Deathknell.
Yeahblizz did not do a good job showing the losses the forsaken may have suffered it almost feels like they all got away.
The Forsaken were supposed to have suffered losses? When?
Apprently tiristfall glades at least people seem to think so. I thought they evacuated all the forsaken that werent fighters before the alliance showeec up. That is kind of what they showed with the slliance just poping up and no show of destroying anything.
Yeah that’s what I thought too. Unlike the genocide of the Night Elves the Horde knew we were coming and evacuated accordingly. How else did they have time to set a trap like they did? People are talking nonsense if they think there were civilian casualties.
Yep if there were th er n blizz did not bother to show any of it. That is kind of one of the roots of the allisnce feeling like the horde didnt lose undercity or well the loss was nothing as they didn’t lose anything but an empty city v losing who knows how many lives
They didn’t even lose the city really. Like you couldn’t clean up that plague and move back in.
