Is Anduin a Death Knight?

I mean … You kind of do? It’s either you spend time as a corpse or die / sacrificed / part of a ritual, where generally there’s no coming back. This doesn’t seem to fit any of those categories, it seems more like a dark-controlling; hence why I used Old God puppet example. The rest of your commentary is kind of addressed in that matter too.

You’re assuming being controlled by magic has no lasting effects, however. I don’t think that’s born out by how Domination magic has been used in Warcraft so far. It’s not really comparable to an Old God’s influence because it’s not an Old God doing it, it’s an Eternal channeling Death and Domination magic through Anduin - we don’t know what effect that will have on him or if long term exposure has any lasting effects.

I kind of think you just hope Anduin isn’t/won’t be undead and are trying to speak that into reality by stubbornly refusing the possibility.

I’m not assuming that on a broad basis, but I don’t believe that’s to be the case in Anduin’s scenario.

Not Old-God per say, I was using the principle which would be correct - the dark presence is channeling their whim onto their victim / puppet. Those generally may or may not have long term effects, such is seen with Old Gods too (Unravelling mind / meddling to insanity or chaos, and sometimes inflicting a PTSD with the experiences).

Hmm, feels more of a dark-infused being with the undeath magic; doesn’t really make him undead. I could care less if he actually becomes undead, but I’d rather it be through more proper direct terms as usually seen in WoW lore. The reason to why I care less about Anduin as a character, is due to that I find Anduin’s character & story rather weak honestly.

narrows eyes.

Look Anya. You know I have nothing but love for my fellow elves. You’re all very pretty! I’m not saying you aren’t!

But those oddly large hands? I just can’t. I’m very sorry, but every time I see a female night elf, I’m wondering why their hands are so big! Is it for strangling your very oddly proportioned male counterparts? I think it must be.

Do something about those large choking hands and you’ll be an easy fourth place, maybe even third.

Oh, there’s going to be some choking all right, honey.

You still my heart tho, big hands!!!

Your comment about him and dark magic had me thinking - it could be that his change of appearance is due to his body being used as a conduit for death magic/power. That has to have some sort of effect on a living being.

He’s also a priest, and Blizzard have been leaning influences of the void toward Anduin. There are other forces at play on that note, that could meddle with that transition. Generally speaking magical radiation to beings happens over longer distances of time rather than short. I mean it’s certainly possible, but yeah.

The Warcraft 3 death knights seems to have willingly become death knights and were not killed off. They even retain their “humanity”.

This is true, I was thinking more in terms of the majority of WoW death knights, which were often killed first. Lore-wise, even some of the ones who date back to the Warcraft III time period fall into this category, such as those who were members of the 1st Legion (Falric, Marwyn, Thassarian) and those who were killed in the invasion of Quel’Thalas (Thalanor, Koltira).
