Orcs are the most iconic and effective mages. Their racial identity lends itself perfectly to the mage class. Bolt Sparklefang invented Maging back on Draenor.
You don’t see the combination often because most people are intimidated by the prospect of role-playing such a high-minded mage. Humans and elves are sort of remedial mages that perform magic by simply mimicking what they have witnessed orcs doing.
Orcs, on the other hand, actually understand arcane theory and constantly innovate.

Orc mage is a cool idea ima make one later, problem is though everyone I see in game has really bad xmogs, wasted potential tbh.

There’s no lore supporting orc mages. Orc warlocks used to be shamans.

This is what I could find about Orc mages:
It is unknown if orcs could become mages before Cataclysm. Two major orc mages in lore are Acrypha and Hagara the Stormbinder. Acrypha is an eccentric old female orc who trains beginner mages in Durotar. She stayed in the Undercity libraries studying the arcane for years. Once the Shattering occurred, she decided to return to her people and teach others what she had learned. Hagara also learned the ways of the mage from the Forsaken, though she later defected to the Twilight’s Hammer.[9] Orc mages are also sometimes called “arcweavers.” Garrosh Hellscream seemed to promote the use of the arcane in his Kor’kron forces, shown by the presence of the Kor’kron Arcweavers.
The Mag’har orcs of the alternate Draenor can become mages as well. They were taught how to wield the arcane by the ogres of Highmaul upon joining the Iron Horde. It is also possible that they were taught by the draenei, as they have taught some orcs how to read and write.

Great book, by the way. Only book from Blizzard that didn’t retcon a single thing of the story and opened the ways to other books such as Malfurion teaching the Gnomes about building machines.

Orcs descend from Ogres which are powerful mages.
Personally had a blackrock mage for a bit until Nightborne came out. They are nice, have some unique models. Good for pvp if you go OG orc.
But I prefer maghar but they are worse off racially for some reason.
