Is a Bard Class even Possible?

Where did I ever mention once in my spec examples that it was a “support” and not a straight DPS? I never said that a support DPS would be its playstyle and I already play Tiny Rogues and one of my favorite characters to play is the bard so it was a neat idea I threw together

granted, but it turns into a spec for rogues that use 1h and a musical instrument.

Along with a new spec for all classes!

except druids

Supports cannot be designed to be a straight DPS. in EVERY game with supports, their damage is always subpar due to buffing allies.

Against a low geared/skilled Aug maybe? Otherwise no lol.

I did a few times so I know it very well.

20 waycrest earlier this week. 481 aug, 483 disc priest. aug 51k overall, disc priest 53k overall, 76% ebon might uptime btw. Nobody will ever convince me that aug isn’t the most worthless choice of a spec they’ve ever put in the game. It quite literally killed the other evoker dps spec outside of PvP.
Play dev? good luck getting into literally anything outside of a guild run.
Play pres? you’re laughably undertuned so you have to try 20 times harder than any other healer.

what you never played dragon age origins :stuck_out_tongue:

You’re judging a class based on its DPS output when that isn’t its purpose at all. its a buff class, the reason you’re doing 150k DPS on ST is cause the Aug is only doing 35k. Again I said with my class breakdown in my own example that the bard wouldnt be a “support” class…which it isn’t the focus of my post and frankly i’m a bit confused why you came into my forum thread ranting and raving about Aug evoker when that class hasn’t been mentioned once…until you showed up.

Blizzards balancing is LAUGHABLY bad, they couldn’t even balance a check book if push came to shove and i agree before war within comes out they need to take a SERIOUS look on the balancing and how they go about things. I’m a ret paladin being on the receiving end of the unjustified nerf bat while everyone and their mother shouts from the rooftops “ReT pAlLy BrOkEn!!!” but this whole thread was just a look and conversation on if a Bard class would be a welcome addition and right now…survey is saying no

No, but I watched El-Kabonk (I can’t say the actual name of the cartoon because of the ridiculous language filter) cartoons as a kid.

Panas could get Tubas.

Wasn’t Blizzcon, though there is one Morgan Day and WarcraftWiki question where they say they’re happy.

There is a Morgan Day 10.2 interview with Fandy (no idea who this is) where they talk about it and he says “overall very happy with the reception” and “ultimately very happy with augmentation.”

I’ve seen zero negative talk about Aug from Blizz so it would be nice to get a source. I rewatched the deep dive and there’s nothing there.

I personally feel if a bard was introduced, it would let everyone down because what they envision a bard to be…I just dont see that happening in WoW. That is, a traditional music user.

I dont see them adding a musical instrument weapon type.

You could have musically themed spells where your character equips a musical instrument for the spell, but that will push the class/spec into a ton of channeled spells. Which I feel wouldnt be well received. It would drastically lower CPM compared to anyone else.

Its not that they couldnt come up with some musical themed names for abilities that buff, and throw it onto a class. Its how to make the class actually feel like a bard.

Maybe you could have channeled “musically” themed abilities where you strum on a lyre or something. And during the channel you can cast other abilities that dont break the channel.

The New World approach to bards was interesting: make them a secondary profession with a guitar hero minigame one just does on street corners, with a collection of little non-combat buffs (eg: a 5% rep bonus for an hour or a +50 finess buff to gathering for an hour) that can be randomly given out to passers-by.

Never played New World, but that does sound delightful.

LOL. You have never played a Mistweaver Monk. Im levelling another atm, and at this point I am topping the dps in randoms.

tbh that’d be a warrior bard mix.

Isn’t augmentation basically a lizard song bard?

I would 100% take a bard themed class over whatever the hell evoker is.

poorly received by the 1%'s

the rest of us people love them and enjoy them and I want more support specs to “augment” my playstyle
