Yeah I don’t get how people are struggling with open world content at 200.
The rest of us did that content early in the expansion at like 170-180 ilvl.

well you both look adorable regardless.
I’ve been learning that WQ gear can go above 200. I just started getting 203 and 204 and 207 drops (on this character and my hunter) once I upgraded my covenant armor pieces to 197 and equipped a legendary. High renown probably contributed.

Nice list. But you missed a few things:
~203 epic emissary WQ box
~207 world boss
~up to 226 weekly chest
That last one is probably the best source of casual higher ilevel gear.
the problem with your chart is you left out the vault for mythic plus which is much higher

WQ gear goes up to 194 atm, you -can- get 200+ ilvl from the epic callings cache… but that is crazy rare… rarely you will get 190-200 soulbind traits, most often you will get grey junk worth gold.

Agreed.
If you do one even fairly low level mythic+ each week you’ll end up with guaranteed higher than 200 ilevel from the weekly loot chest.

I have tons of fun doing heroics and mythic zero on my alt. Item level 190.

Six one way, half dozen the other. I did WQs and got 203 and 207 gear.

not sure how thats possible… I am covenant 32 and I only get 194 max level peices? curious…
As for my opinion… currently.
190 is a base.
200-210 is good
210-219 is geared.
220+ You’re just a beast.

As the other player said, it’s probably from drops while doing the quests and/or from the cache I got when done. My point was that doing WQs was the path to this gear.
I agree that 200 item level is starter gear.
But what’s wrong with starter gear? You’re now geared enough that you can progress into harder end-game content… so now you’re playing the game, and still being rewarded new gear for it?
If you’re casual, you’re still in good gear. 200 item level is great do to Twisting Corridors, World Content, and some old raids (plz fix Legion).
ilvl 200 is fine for the stuff that I do right now. So that makes it good enough. And I didn’t need to do anything I didn’t want to do to get it. Which is nice.

People forgot what natural gear progression looks like.
Running my own 14 keys, I get HUNDRENDS of join requests of people barely 200 ilvl and 400 io. Everyone just wants a free carry and cry when they don’t get it.
Either way, I just ignore them and live happily every after.
I am a casual. I am 216 ilvl. I have not set foot into CN n/h/m. I did 1 LFR wing cuz I was bored one evening. I have not done a single M+ with my guild. I pug. Everything. All the time.
So those crying about how unfriendly it is for people w/o guilds or friends, they just aren’t trying hard enough. Simple as that.

If you want higher push for higher 200 ilvl is good that is reality.
I am not on forums asking for 226 gear.
Other ways to progress not just by ilvl.
So, if you don’t or feel you cannot get 200+ do other things to improve conduits and gem slots. Gold farm buy boe s.
