We’re talking about High Elves here, not Blood Elves. Blue/Silver in the end - and this group should be officially playable by now.
Was a bug, the story explicitly tells to take prisoners. In the end, they turned it into a “blood on our hands”-metaphor in BfA. But it’s just a story and there can be always things changed.
You’re trying to give me some logical reason … but you’re not understanding that I just don’t care. I don’t see how anyone really CARES about High Elves.
From where I’m sitting (if I was a Alli-player), I would be logged on my NE chr and … as far as I can tell … it’s a “high elf.” What’s the difference? When wearing armor (which is all I’m ever doing), not enough to matter or notice. Who cares??
It strikes me that the only people that could possibly care about this are RPs. And… I can argue both sides of that. Just RP “high elf” and a NE. Done. It’s not like the difference between an Orc and a Tauren. A High Elf is going to use to SAME MODEL, cmon.
This kind of petty argument is what I call: A distinction without a difference.
It just doesn’t matter to me, I cannot figure how it matters to anyone else. I just don’t get it.
You should actually care to some degree, because it affected the game on a very big scale and how often it’s discussed worldwide. That’s why it’s still relevant.
Of course it’s RPers. I’m one too. But the game offers you to individualize yourself in a world, which is why these problems exists. It’s a MMO.
I think this is a hard pill to swallow, because you’re off topic.
People talk about Blue/White High Elves, not Red/Gold ones. And this character fantasy is a subrace concept at the moment, added because of the massive feedback the company received during the lawsuit.
I think you’re overestimating this to such a degree, I can’t even find words for it.
From where I’m sitting, there are like 100 people that care MORE ABOUT THIS ISSUE THAN ANYYYYYYYYYTHING ELSE IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLD … but that doesn’t change the fact that … no one really cares about this.
It is a super, SUPER minority of people, that this is THHEEEEE MOSTTTTT important thing to them. But that doesn’t change the fact they’re a super minority.
I mean, for all of the lore reasons you could endlessly go on about as to why people want High Elves, you DO realize that the only reason Blood Elves are popular is because “they’re pretty”, right? It has nothing to do with lore, or any other deeper meaning. People are just pathetically vapid. I’m glad most members of the Horde see past that, but I’m not denying it’s still popular in the Horde and … we both know why. And IT’S NOT LORE.
And if you already have the NE model, the HE one isn’t going to be any different in any meaningful manner.
It’s not a minority. Go and read the EU-forums (and its sub languages). Go on reddit and MMO-champion. The topic is still relevant.
I fully agree with you. People want to play ideal selves because they either want to look like this in RL or do not like other fantasy races. It’s always the same.
It is very different. Me and my relatives have been playing for a decade, I have every race around 50-60. NE and HE are completely different.
Just because the topic is still relevant doesn’t mean it’s still just 9 luddites yammering on about it. People still enjoy ham radio as a hobby. That doesn’t mean people by and large are giving up the internet for RADIO. cmon… that’s a terrible argument.
And finally, rereading my posts they sound like I’m angry or attacking you or … and that’s not my intended tone at all. I’m simply voicing a counter-argument about an issue I will never understand, nor agree with. I hope you understand, it’s nothing personal or anything like that.
Just… when you say "TOTALLY " different … they’re not. Blizzard would change a handful of pixel and be done with it. Taurens and Gnomes are “totally different.” NE and HEs would literally be the same model with 3% changed to the skin.
You come from a perspective of the Horde.
This topic is about the perspective of the Alliance. They lack it, as long as they still have purple blood and void voice lines… and the wrong subrace title.
Yes, you are off topic.
I don’t take it offensive, no worry. But the discussions still rage on and there is a clear demand which needs to be fulfilled. It was the very same with straight-back orcs before the Mag’har. The Alliance has actual High Elves playable but due bad faith instigators there can be no peace between these childish groups.
The difference are the customization, look, height, the animations, voice lines and what classes they can play. It’s different enough and they do not share the same model if you look closer. Not even male Nightborne and Night Elves share the same model, if you see them side by side.
I fully agree with you here - but for a certain group this is not enough.
I haven’t been on the EU forums for a while and my last visit there was just to pay my respects to the late Brigante in the topic leaf opened. Bless his poor soul that he doesn’t have endure these topics anymore.
high elves are blood and void. as a matter of fact because void got they junk all messed up from the void. they’re less high elf than blood but are still the same race but void elves suck lol. blood are high elves but changed their name in honour of the fallen. you have high elves, Blizzard should just rename them all high elf so you can be happy. it’s ridiculous you guys continue to beg on something you have in the game. it’s so weird
just admit you’re not happy with the whole Void crap and want pure blood elves on alliance. that’s all, even cosmetically belfs have better. void is terrible in cosmetic and lore.
I’ve been seeing this argument phrased 1000 different ways for so long now and im still confused by it.
The Blood Elves are literally High Elves that decided to rename themselves as such to remember the genocide of ~90% of their population.
There was no genetic split, no cultural split, no magical split… Blizzard allowing High/Blood Elven customizations for nether-pulled Void Elves was above and beyond.
