Ironically, the only race that could help the alliance population

Are High Elves which are a minority.

Sure we have Blood and Voidies but they aren’t the same as the high elf concept. Especially not those filthy and disgusting Voidie abominations that deserve to be purged off the face of Azeroth. The fact that they exist as playable and High Elves don’t is a crime against Elvenkind.

Want to fix the Alliance/Horde population disparity?

Literally Alliance High Elves would cause so much race change $$ as true elf fans want to be a High Elf not a Blood Elf or an unclean, degenerate Voidie.

Night Elves you say? They’ve been here since launch and didn’t help the population at all. Meanwhile over half the Horde are Blood Elves. Just saying.

Too much elf talk I say

As an elf… no more elves or topics about them.

Not only was Alliance the majority faction from vanilla through the end of Legion, but Night Elves were usually tied with Humans as the most popular race in the game for much of that.

Not until High Elves are given their just respects.

Even though their intro to the lore was a bit rough, void elves are far more interesting than high elves.

You take that back.

Voidies shouldn’t even exist.

That’s probably my fault since every time I kill a Human and turn them into Zombies, they end up joining the Forsaken :frowning:

That’s horrid.

Both sides are trying to push the Forsaken into extinction, you know.

A few years back I’d have agreed. But they do exist. The main problem now is that they haven’t been used enough. Actually you could apply that criticism to most of the races in the game, but VEs in particular I think have a lot of potential coolness left on the table. Just look at the void elf customisation megathread. It’s amazing.

Its far too late for high elves outside of blood/ void elves. We do not need the same race in the game 3 times over.

I would however like to see the faction barrier be taken down so you could have whatever race on either faction.
That way alliance players can have blood elves and play their non void high elves. (And i get vulpera but thats here nor there)

High Elf, checking in.
Alliance deserves nothing.

Want to check out my void gate?

I guess I would be mad too if I looked like the rebelling daughter of a blood elf the shepherd and a goat that got stuck in the fence.

You do :stuck_out_tongue:

True, but the Blood Elves are the initial cause of the shift, followed by dishonorable faction-favoritism through Blizzard for many, many years.

High Elves are playable but they are not a subrace with their own subrace title, like many other tied-in races.

And they were abandoned by Blizzard in BfA. Not a good point to make, to be honest. A void expansion without Void Elves as a main force. But they were at least enemies in the nightmare-instances.

Blood Elves are just High Elves that followed Kael’thas after Arthas went bonkers on their population.

By extension, Void Elves are just High Elves with void powers.

Void Elves are High and Blood Elves canonically. The initial purple ones are Blood Elves, with newcomers being likely High- and Blood Elves if you want to believe their respectable NPCs.

Heh? Blood elves and the horde took those crowns long ago my friend, fel the whole reason blood elves are horde is because alliance WAS the top pick in vanilla . . .

things haven’t been the same since due to a wide number of factors that have come and gone over the years including blood elves, racials, certain exploits a race could pull in given raids, pop culture, the god awful alliance leveling experience in cata where the devs literally ran out of time to add compelling Alliance stories because they worked so long and hard in the horde ones that we got a bunch of memes, pop culture references, and literal repackaging of our previous quests, a dev team that did at one point vastly prefer the horde so they spent more time working on them, and more.

clears throat

More to the OP’s point, as much as it hurts me to say this, I honestly don’t think adding the high elves as their own race will put a dent in the faction numbers as the damage has already been done. Granted if it ever DID happen I’d have quite a few toons in need of a race change . . . honestly though at this point? I’d settle for some natural hairstyles . . . Ones made FOR us from scratch and NOT, I repeat, N O T taken from blood elves.

Edit: sorry for the wall of text.

You do realize… blood elves and void elves ARE high elves right?

I was playing alliance as Dark Iron Dwarf and Dwarf and Night elf.

The only race I would never consider playing in alliance was void elf or whatever elf you like to call it.

These threads with high elf copium makes me cringe.
