Ironforge updated, still down 15000 players from thanksgiving week

Only 2k came back after thanksgiving

Its not holidays or som, its the game failing its players in lack of updates and spiraling server problems.

what would you guys do if blizzard literally just shut down all classic servers because they are tired of the headache? would you go to retail? it’d honestly be the best thing that could happen to some of you guys that post here. (not op)

nobody in classic would go to retail, we all quit retail to play classic. once classic fails we move out of wow, or for some go back to private servers

TBH if TBC went away I might pick pvp back up in 10.0 depending on how it looks. I was enjoying myself well enough in rbgs before TBC launched and I saw the expansion of the grind systems that 9.1 had coming. IMO making the TBC lfg system cross server could help with a lot of dead server issues.

I’d unsub and move on with my life, basically what I did when I quit cataclysm. Maybe I’d look at playing a wrath private server if Blizzard never gets around to hosting it. I’m already planning to quit this when my 6 months is out fyi. The way Blizzard has handled this game and playerbase is disgusting. I’m not giving them anymore money for this. I will come back for wrath, if it even happens, and that’ll be the last opportunity for them to get their company out of the dumpster.

So I’m on a very small server and I’ve not really noticed much of a change in the way I interact within the world? However we are constantly doing raids 23/25  so you are probably right that the numbers are dropping sharp. But… SoM is a disaster so far for the people posting about it. So there could be a rebound if that doesn’t work out for them?

SoM isn’t a disaster. I’ve been having fun with it as have others. With that being said I have zero expectations for it long term.

Some may come back to TBCC for P3 etc raids.

As for the question what would I do if they shut down the Classic servers? Unsub and quit WoW. I gave Shadowlands a try and it seemed ok for a few weeks but ultimately got boring for me because what I want out of the game wasn’t there.

som’s pvp is great. and going into mc with fresh 60 pre - pre - bis is more challenging then any content thats been released in tbc since launch

I think most people would quit, move to private servers, or go back to retail.

Lmao please, close the servers, probably best for everyone at the moment.

My raids lost now 4 people since Thanksgiving I believe.

Pugging 5 or something per raid LOL.

If I take off all my gear, normal dungeons are pretty hard.

Well, that sure wasn’t the sentiment from the many posts I’ve read? But if you are having fun then great! We could could still use some of the SoM players to come back to TBC so that we may finish what we all started there… lol

people bored of p2

Phase nearing the end, people bored, holiday season. It’s fine. I’m fine. Game’s managed by the worst gaming company, but it’s fine.

I’d go straight to Endwalker

Glad that numbers thing did not exist and people did not bash on numbers on the internet back in the original. Good times. All what was there was people dooming that wow is dying as it’s first version was better blabla.

Meanwhile, Benediction went up by 3000+ population. I think it will survive to the end of TBC.

It’ll survive. There was a TBC pserver (probably still around today) that literally had less than 100 players on it total for most of its lifetime, and they cleared all content through Sunwell without issues.

Bene will lose ally pop, but that will happen once it’s finished absorbing the rest of the alliance into the cesspool.

Maybe when the pop drops enough Benediction ally will actually have a community since it doesn’t really now, as stated by the vast majority of those in the Bene Discord. Yeah, you can definitely get groups though, and buy whatever you want with gold, exactly like on Retail.

I agree that the server will last, well for ally only, and continue to provide a sub-par experience for all until the end of TBCC.
